The mission of the store is to support the programs and services of the Women's Center and their clients by providing quality pre-owned items at affordable prices to all members of the community while providing a clean and friendly shopping environment.
The Women's Center Furniture and More Thrift Store supports recycling efforts by preventing reusable items from going to the landfill and by donating some items for recycling such as cell phones, eyeglasses and ink cartridges.
Additionally, the Furniture and More Thrift Store has a retail skills training program that is provided as part of the Career Guidance program for clients who are in need of job skills. The Furniture and More Thrift Store provides this much needed training in a safe and structured environment.
All donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at our West New Haven location during normal business hours.
Requests to pick up furniture items can be arranged by calling (321) 951-1336 in advance to schedule an appointment.
Please note: Since we rely primarily on volunteers and do not have the additional staff to clean or repair items, we can not accept anything that is in need of extensive cleaning or repair, that is rusty, or that has previously gotten wet or damaged by moisture, mold, or mildew.
