Nice big size lots for larger rig. Close to go in and out of town if needed. Campground was just opening up for the season- didn’t feel like they had a lot of time to chat with campers but I will assume they had a lot going on. They were awesome to let a few of us in a night earlier. Washrooms were clean. Pool wasn’t operational yet it was still cold/rainy. Laundry room is quite cold on the cooler days so make sure you have a jacket/sweater. Some of the machines could use a little TLC. Dryers were 48 minutes but some of the clothes still were not dry and our clothes are usually dry within30 minutes this was our 92nd campsite in 2 years so we have something to compare it to ;0 Lots of room to walk your dog or just go for a walk. Some full timers but lots were kept fairly clean.
Woodhaven RV Park Stayed in Woodhaven RV Park for 35 days. We had a fabulous time during our stay. We traveled to Halifax for Canada Day and celebrated. We saw a live canon display at the Citadel. We saw The Tattoo at the Scotiabank Center also in Halifax. We went to the lakes, beaches and Peggy’s Cove. Just down the road from Peggy’s Cove is Shaw’s Landing we had the best lobster roll ever. Thanks to Karrie-Ann for recommendation. Woodhaven RV is well maintained. The grass and greenery around the park is constantly being cut and groomed. During our stay the weather dropped six inches of rain in one night. The next day Bernie and Dustin were fixing the washouts in the roads around the park. Our site drained very well. After 6 inches of rain in one nigh we did not have any standing water. Our site was a pull through with big pine trees on both sides giving us privacy and as is was corner site we had lots of room for our MC car trailer our car and Jeep CJ Bernie, Karrie-Ann and Dustin where great hosts. We will be back to Woodhaven RV park.
This is a fabulous campground with accommodation for all. There is everything from pull through to smaller areas to accommodate tents. Many are treed to allow for some privacy as well as aesthetically pleasing, The laundry facility is large enough to be comfortable and has several large washers/dryers. There is a pool and lounge area around the pool as well as a lounge building. The campground is large and the owners very friendly as well as hardworking, we saw them working constantly and it shows. The location is fantastic, near stores and restaurants and within commuting distance to Halifax without being in the downtown core. We look forward to returning to Woodhaven RV Park where the owners go out of their way to make your experience a positive one
We are so grateful for such a wonderful vacation. We had an issue and the owner sent a local business out to help us within the hour. Nice to know good people still exist. Can't wait to come back next year!! Thanks again for your help and a great stay!!
Such an amazing campground. As soon as we went to check in we felt super welcome. I absolutely love my site and it is a great size. The playground is awesome! It’s got a slide, lots of swings, and monkey bars all of the things kids love. The pool is heated! And it’s so nice on a hot day, they keep it so clean and it always looks spotless. Can’t explain my love for this campground! <3
I stayed here for a week. It's a great park, the staff work hard here and you can really see it in action. They escort you to your site and deliver wood to your site as well. Washrooms / laundry are all clean. 3 dollars for a wash and same for dry. Maintenance is on top of their game here. Great people.........good times.........
The park was easy to find. It is located about thirty minutes from the Harbor Walk in Halifax. There is pavement all the way until you arrive at the park entrance. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient, informative and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are gavel and in fairly good condition Our site, C3, was a that was pull thru plenty long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services 30 amp, water and sewer were to the left side. The sewer dump was pretty high in our site but still workable. Distancing is not great for a rural park. Most sites had a vegetation privacy barrier. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was a little uneven but not overly bad. We sloped to the left rear but our levelers had no difficulty. Overall the park was clean and quiet but a little rough looking. The park included wifi worked well for surfing and email. We were informed that streaming is very frowned upon. Their system was not engineered for heavy DL. There is no cable TV but we did find some OTA TV. Satellite might be difficult because of trees. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean. The men main bathroom looked bad only because the glazing on the tiles is lifting badly. The laundromat was clean and the washer driers worked well. There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be a good base for visiting local attractions. We paid $49.28 inc tax per night and we feel we received fair value. We bugged out earlier than we wanted to because Hurricane Fiona that was bearing down on the area but we will be back if in the area again.
Clean restrooms and showers, spacious sites, easy hook ups, organized process and very close to Halifax, Peggy’s Cove, etc. Has laundry facilities…. You need change though… should have a change machine. Otherwise I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed 2 nights with a 3 way hookup, pull through. The site was spacious, clean and level. There is pizza, swarhma, liquor, gas, and a small market all within a few kilometers. The road out front is very busy, but no noise reached our site. I would recommend this place. Dog-friendliness: Yes, dogs on a leash are allowed.
Love this campground. The owners are great and really take care of the place. I was a new camper and they helped us get settled in. The prices are a bit higher than I would like, but you get good services for the money. It is basically right across the road from the Hatfield Farm. It has a nice pool, and good washrooms. They have some wooded sites further in, and some open sites on top of the hill where you first come in, and where the office is. We chose to stay on the top of the hill and had a beautiful view of the hill and grounds of the Hatfield Farm. We got to see the farm animals, horses and cows roaming around the entire time, which made my mother very happy. Lovely views from this particular area of the campground. Our campsite didn’t have a fire-pit, but they delivered it, and they sell fairly good-sized bundles for $7 dollars each. I don’t think they sell kindling, so bring your own. I didn’t ask though, so they might. They have good bins for the garbage which we didn’t notice until we were driving out, and we had left our garbage in the washrooms. We will know better next time, and I would definitely stay here again.
