This place was HORRIBLE. Staff was not helpful or reasonable. Some how the lack of planning accordingly becomes your problem. Services get cut short because another service needs to start. And the people that are attending the first service get asked to move their vehicles because the next service is going to start.
I am so disgusted with the complete lack of care, concern and empathy the City has for the resting place at Woodlawn. This is the final stop for the pioneers of Las Vegas and it is a disgrace. Trim around the grave stones, water the fricking grass, pull the weeds and pick up the trash. I’m tired of placing flowers at my sister’s grave, in the holder that I paid to have installed, only to visit again and find the flowers gone. Why do other graves have flowers intact? I specifically asked what needed to be done, and I complied by paying for the indwelling “vase “ and I have never been there when the flowers I left previously were still in place. What do our taxes pay for? Get it together and show some respect and humanity.
This is an older cemetary but very well maintained and has beautiful old trees that provide great shade for the lush green grass there. The plots there are very reasonably priced and the office works with you to help you to find affordable payments that will fit your budget. Martha is a very pleasant, caring and courteous person who helped our family through a hard time in the loss of my step dad. Ok sometimes there are homeless people who come in the cemetary to get out of the hot sun because of the shade trees but my step dad Sonny never put anyone down for being down on their luck and was one who would give his last dollar to help a guy out that was on the streets. Im sure he and the other residents there at Woodlawn dont mind the company....
Cemetery runs for over 100 years. They have sections for veterans and mausoleums. Headstones are ranging from early 1800s to present. It is poorly maintained. There are full thrash cans. I saw water bottles, clothes, etc. In addition section for veterans is not maintained. Few U.S. flags are down and lawn is dead. Overall, my visit was okay.
I wouldn't bury my loved one here if they paid me! They don't keep up with the lawn it's yellow and looks horrible. I drive by here everyday frightened its full of homeless people and drug addicts that are either passed out or begging for money that sleep right in front of the cemetery the city doesn't care as long as they're not near the strip where the tourist are. So disrespectful something needs to be done!
My father has been buried here for almost 20 years. And for over 10 years I have been trying to get a hold of someone to take care of the metal flower vase that the landscaper broke with the riding lawnmower. I have left messages written emails and stopped by with no one there or available. Pardon my French but it’s bulls&$! Now I don’t even live in Vegas so imagine what a delight it is to try to get a hold of someone. Smh I get being busy but this service is atrocious. Next up BBB
Located in beautiful downtown Skid Row, you can mingle with the true Vegas locals in their natural, gritty habitat. We were looking for a serene walk, but what we found was a tailgate party INSIDE the cemetery, complete with Easy Ups and an impromptu soccer game on the grave-dappled lawn. Real classy joint.
Never had a problem here. My son was buried by the city but I found him and got a headstone which promptly went in. Rest in peace Timathe Jones! Love,Mom
Today we went to the cemetery to pay a visit to my mother in law she has been resting there for years now it’s so sad to have gotten there and seen her tombstone damaged as many others it’s like who ever. Rides there machinery has no heart and forgets that a lot of us have our loved ones there and it’s very hard to go and see so much damaged to alot of gravesites and broken items I do know that this is the worst and that if my mother in laws gravesite is not fixed within 24 hours I will get the city involved and the news this is not ok ppl pay alot of money to lay there loved ones to rest for someone to just come along and destroy everything Update : I did call Woodlawn and mrs Betty was very nice and had my mother-in-law’s resting sight fixed so thank you for yo our fast action on fixing the issue
100+ years old Las Vegas Cemetery. Located in older location off the Las Vegas Boulevard, known for being haunted, creepy at night and squatted by homeless. Paranormal Investigators be careful of your surroundings, don't go alone.
