Love this library. A local treasure! Thank you Worcester County, MD! We have been using this great library since 1999. All the librarians are top notch professionals. They are always super friendly, helpful, and resourceful. The beautiful architecture makes it light and airy inside. For a small town library yr round population @ 7,000, they serve beachgoers high season population can be 100,000* with ease, even in height of summer! Go to the great in-person programs yr round. During Covid, they were HEROES! You could pick up your books outside by steps. They have a wonderful special display of new and noteworthy books. Lots of newspapers and periodicals. Upstairs, there are several study carels…. and tons of mysteries. Clean bathroom! We keep our old dvd player because our apartment building has no or spotty tv service during storms. They have good selection of dvds. And handy for classics for grandchildren.
Super friendly staffs, carry diversed books for all culture and background. Found great selections of books at the book nook. A gem in the city of of 8k long term residents to 380k including short term residents in summer.
Fee free library!!! didn’t even know a library existed without fees until I came here. Moved from a big city to a small town and really lucked out with a Library in this particular small town. All the staff are super friendly, eager to help you out. The movies that you can borrow from the library include newer releases, classics, foreign, and criterion collection films enough to satisfy the hardcore movie buff. They offer resources for unemployment and offer free classes too!!! Very family friendly library, they have a beautiful children’s book section and a vast selection.
We drive 45 minutes every Wednesday just to see Mrs Savannah for the toddler reading group. She puts so much time and effort into her lessons- it came as no surprise that she was a former early education teacher! We feel truly blessed to have this invaluable resource and a librarian that cares as much!
Great activities for little kids.
A fine library, better than one might expect for a vacation town. Nice place to visit on a rainy day at the beach. When we stopped by they had crafts available for the kids, so that was great. A neat little room upstairs with information about local history was interesting, too. If you're not a resident you can't borrow books or videos, except you CAN borrow from a selection of paperbacks in their "honor library". A great idea if you forgot to bring your beach read. Also, a little nook of used books for sale where you should be able to find a title that suits, plus help support a nice library.
Very well maintained clean environment, friendly staff, nice quiet place to be.
Very friendly staff, clean facility and lots of activities to do with kids.
The charming cupola on top caught my eye as I drove by. Upon entering I was presented with an open layout and pleasant lighting. The staff is down to earth and even assisted me in a search for an out of print book we unfortunately couldn't track it down. I also perused the grab bag book sale fill a bag for $5, and used a secluded table to indulge in the provided wifi and electricity.
Should be open at 9am. Not 10:22am. I sat out here from 9:30 and I'm now the 4th car who has come and left. Why in the world would you try to keep people out of the library? People barely go to the library as it is now you're trying to keep people out of it?
