The Institute is an integral part of the Urban Studies department and engages students of all ages to meet the challenges that face our urban environment. The UAI office is located in Room S134, first floor, Sullivan Building.
The UAI offers a variety of practicum opportunities including the (HOT) Hunger Outreach Team, the WSU Teaching Garden, and the English Language Learning (ELL) tutoring program. Our team also plans and implements an annual "Empty Bowl" event on campus to raise funds for local hunger relief.
The Mission of the Urban Action Institute works to promote student development and collaboratively address social, political, and economic injustices in our society through collective transformative action that bridges lines of difference and forges community.
