The front office always seems unorganized. Both times we’ve been here for wellness appointments we have been asked to arrive early in which we do, more than 10min early. We never expect to be pulled back however we are always waiting over 15-30min after the nurse leaves before the doctor comes in. For example we arrived at 9:35am I mistakenly thought the appointment was for 10 my appt was at 10:20, we were called back around 10 or so, after the nurse left it was 10:20am, the doctor didn’t come in until 10:40am, it is now 11:19am and we’re just leaving. I have worked in a couple of pediatric clinics along with experience as a parent 10yrs and have never had a experience like I have both times. The doctor we’ve seen has always been polite however seems like because my child is on Medicaid that I must be incompetent. When applying for insurance on the marketplace I didn’t have any option as they qualified. However just because a patient has Medicaid doesn’t make it right for them to treat you as if you are incompetent on health or parenting. I will be pushing to get my child on a private insurance to ensure we aren’t treated this way again. It’s unfortunate that people who are on Medicaid are treated as if they are less than someone on private insurance. Maybe it’s the “Texas Medicaid” policy that requires but I shouldn’t be coached on what I should be doing as a parent for my child who is healthy. I could understand if there were concerns of my child’s health/hygiene/care however there wasn’t. We have had Medicaid before and have never been treated this way or felt this way for being on Medicaid. I will be searching for a better clinic for my children.
These people are unbelievable!!! I’ve had to constantly reschedule my son’s appointment because of my work schedule. So I finally decided to just take off work so I can get him seen. I took off and signed him out of school early. Only to get there and be told I would have to reschedule because I didn’t come 30 minutes early. I was 15 minutes early to my appointment and the lady told me I’d have to reschedule because they didn’t have any availability. WHAT DO YOU MEAN, MY APPOINTMENT IS AT 10:40 AND ITS NOT EVEN 10:40!!!! If it’s mandatory that I arrive 30 minutes early why not just schedule me for 10:10 instead of 10:40?? I don’t know what their problem is but they’re out of their minds if they think I’ll be ever step foot in there again.
We love our NP Bethany, very informative and professional, yet makes you feel very comfortable and assured about your kids. Staff was great, it was easy and quick to get an appointment. Would definitely recommend to bring your babies here
My kids love coming to wylie children’s medical clinic for one reason that that's DR JO and her team! A relative recommended me to DR JO and I can’t thank her enough because I'm a very picky mom when it comes down to my kids and doctors bedside manners - BECAUSE IT MATTERS! Let me start by saying my kids HATE going to the doctor and specially getting shots or medication, But thanks to DR. JO and her TEAM My kids LOVE to get seen by them. They really go out of their way to ensure my kids feel safe and they show them what they will be doing before hand in order to comfort them and to not be scared. That's a BIG A+ as a mom to see a gentle hand being use on my kids. Shots are a breeze and we are always seen promptly. I can not be more thankful for this ladies. They always assure me if I have any concerns and always answer my questions. I definitely recommend coming here and asking for Dr. Jo YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!! P.s thank you Dr. Jo you the best!! :
Dr. Jyo she is amazing. She is very informative on how you should take care of your kids. My visit there is always a delight. She is patient, attentive and always clear all my concerns.
I have been bringing my children to this location for 7 years and absolutely enjoy it. Dr. Jo is very caring and listens to your concerns. The staff is friendly and helpful
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Bethany Ishmael is so sweet! So are the wonderful nurses. Doctor was very informative and great with my boys. Place is very clean and organized. Front staff needs a little training from the ladies in the back. Overall great place.
I’ve been coming here since my son was a newborn 4 months now If you come here, plan for at least 1.5 hours for just a wellness check. Today I got there at 8:10 for a 8:20 appointment and didn’t leave until 10:35. Waited over an hour to see the NP and then after 30 min of waiting for shots I told the nurse I had to go because my mom was outside with my oldest and she had to go to work. The nurse told me she was ready to give the shots and she went in the room, got the needles ready and one of them was bent. She tried to fix it WITH HER FINGER. She gave my son his shot with the needle that was not bent, put his bandaid on and then she tried to give him the other shot WITH THE BENT NEEDLE. I had to tell her to not give him that one since it was BENT!!! She said “you’re right I’m sorry I’m so sorry” and threw it away. Ugh!!! I don’t even know if I want to come back here ever again. HORRIBLE experience.
Awesome Staff!!! Wonderful pediatrician!! When no one else made the time to see my newborn the staff here jumped into action calling all there appointments to try and make room for us. I recommend them to all!!!
So happy to have found a caring pediatrician that listens to all your concerns and doesn’t make you feel rushed. Highly recommend Dr Bethany and the entire staff. I’m blown away by their hospitality for my little ones.
