It seems that things have changed at this self car wash during the two years I've been away from Overland Park. Upon putting $3 into the machine last week, I quickly noticed two holes in the nozzle of the power washer gun, thus lowering the intensity of the power sprayer. Attempting to plug the holes with my free hand, rusty orange water droplets sprayed back on my arm and all over one of my favorite pairs of shorts stains which have persisted by the way even after soaking the shorts with laundry detergent. I immediately notified the on-site car wash attendant, who apologized for the mishap, comped me $3 and instructed me to switch to another bay. As I inspected the neighboring bays, I found two more power washer guns with visible damage. Of note, the car wash attendant did immediately replace the nozzle of the initial power washer gun that I brought to his attention. Lastly, as the 2 minutes 36 seconds for $3 ran out, I fed a few more quarters into the machine for additional time and was surprised to see that each extra quarter only gives you an extra 15 seconds. Given that it takes about 4 steps round-trip to go from your car to the machine to add additional quarters, each quarter ends up giving you about an extra 10 seconds. In comparison, every other self car wash I've used or observed over the past 20 years gives you an extra 30 seconds for each additional quarter. Given that the Xcel car wash has an on-site attendant, I believe it's unacceptable that the self car wash equipment is not being regularly inspected. In addition, an extra 15 seconds per additional quarter is too stingy. However, on the positive side, since the attendant was so responsive to remedy the situation and my car ended up looking great, I feel justified in leaving this 3 star review.
That is a very good self-serve car wash. I will definitely use that place again. My car shines like it's never shine before.
Nice, big, self service car wash. In the cut, so you feel like you have privacy instead of feeling like a zoo animal. Lol. A lil pricey for my budget, but.. everything is.. with my budget. And it's close to my Casa. So. I'll be back. Hopefully before my car is almost beyond hope. But..I did just Literally get it out of the tow lot, where it was stuck for quite a while, with windows down, during during signifigant downpours. Tis' my luck. However, it's a Honda. And it'll run forever. So. Until the wheels fall off.. I'm driving this MF yo! Lol. Does anybody ever actually read these? Full disclosure.. i cannot be held fully coherent.. i did work graveyard shift and then tow lot, and then the last 2.5 hrs of my life sweating and swearing and crunched over in a tiny honda like im not 46 yrs old and flexible. I'm out! Peace
Used to love this wash, but a dollar doesn't even get you an extra minute. It's worth my time and money to find a new car wash.
Great car wash, plenty of room all around, and plenty of soap. Love coming here to wash cars. Super affordable aswell.
Best touch free car wash I've found in the metro. The prices are comparable to everywhere else and the property looks well maintained.
Whoever manages this car wash needs to monitor the levels of the different options available soap, clear coat, triple foam, etc otherwise you waste your time and money trying figure out if you are getting what you paid for.
Been going there for years and remains a good place. Prices are on the higher side of self service washes however.Services: Auto detailing
Great experience, well lit, clean, and easy to use The triple foam is really good with bug removal..
Awesome I had to put a 20 In for change and of course my luck nothing came out. Went told nice guy working there and at 9am next morning came right to car with my 20. And their self car wash did great and cheap. Cheers to the family owned gem hidden on 125th.
