This page is designed to foster communication and friendships between Xenia Dog Park users. It is here that you and your pup(s) can get to know more about one another! Schedule park visits, and find out what fur-babies belong to what humans when you go! :)
The purpose here is not only to get to know one another, but to also engage in POSITIVE discussions about our dogs. This can be anything from making play dates, asking updates about park conditions (darn rain!), to asking opinions on local vets and dog health issues. Feel free to be a proud owner and post pictures of your dogs, whether they are at the park or not!
**PLEASE refrain from any discriminatory or offensive language or discussions. If you fail to comply, your post will be removed! Keep in mind the privacy of others. Thanks in advance!**
How to make the park a stress free zone:
Please remember to follow the park rules, posted here and at the park entrance. It is especially important to adhere to the rules concerning small dogs and small children—while your small dog or child may be used to large animals in your household, it can never be guaranteed that all the visitors at the park are the same way in return; even took much pressure of a big paw can cause injury, not to mention a dog running at full force. Please take precaution to avoid any unfortunate or tragic events!! Take your dog off the leash in the holding area BEFORE you enter the park. If your dog is aggressive toward other dogs, please keep the safety of all in mind and either don’t come, or find a time to bring your dog when the park is empty.
PLEASE be proactive in picking up your dog’s waste—bags and trash cans are provided, there is no excuse. If you notice an owner has not seen their dog go, either KINDLY make them aware, or better yet, help them out! Someone would surely do the same for you. More often than not, SOMEONE will see your dog relieving him/herself… DON’T BE “THAT” GUY(GAL)!
REMEMBER—dogs must be spayed or neutered to use the park. While not being fixed may not affect your dog’s behavior (unlikely), it will more often than not affect at least one other dog’s behavior, and is a sure trigger for aggression.
Now that the guidelines are in place, let the fun begin! Thanks!
