Great Location! Great staff. Loved that they didn't charge extra for kids. Close to the West Gate of Yellowstone and the downtown area. TONS of things to do a the park for the kids. Pool was large and well kept. They also have breakfast and dinner plates with LARGE portions! would stay againService: 5/5
Very kid friendly KOA with covered pool, driveable 4 wheel bike rentals, and a playground. Most sites are shaded by trees and many are pull through with power and sewage hookups and enough room for another vehicle to park behind. They allowed 7 of us to stay on the same site, which is rare. The general store was pretty nice and the laundry facility was clean. The vault shower rooms are partitioned to keep clothes dry and have a deadbolt lock on the door. Overall, we would stay there again. Nearby activities: Henry’s Lake State Park, Yellowstone West entrance.
Great place to stay! A lot more people than I expected. Fun activities for the kids and the pool was a good size! The back in spot we had was really tight to get into. The people across the aisle had a truck parked on the very edge of the road and there was a big rock on the edge of the site. Getting backed in between those two things was very frustrating after a long day of driving. We were rewarded with a great view out the back of our site. I'm sure we'll be back!
We decided to 'upgrade' to a patio site, but it turned out to be a big disappointment. The sites were incredibly small, and to make matters worse, the firepit was positioned right under my slide-out. Despite providing the length of our RV when booking, our truck was still protruding halfway into the road. I asked an employee who escorted us to our spot about this issue, and he just suggested we try to back up after unhooking. Even after attempting to adjust, our truck was still in the way, although I managed to get it somewhat off the road. However, the real problem was how unlevel the sites were. Despite multiple tries, I was only able to get mine about an inch lower on the downhill side. It was even worse for my friend, who had to borrow wood from a neighbor and stack it up to achieve a level setup. This was, by far, the most challenging and frustrating spot I've ever had to level.
We arrived really late as we were hiking Yellowstone park. We got there on time to grab a few hotdogs and buns from store. The store is very expensive so unless your needing something last minute I would suggest getting things from town. My wife booked the delux cabin and we were told it had AC which it did not. We found an email a few days later after they said they had AC in her spam. Seems like they they tell you what you want to hear and then use the excuse they sent you an email later explaining why they moved you or the correction. Besides that the cabin they gave us was directly under a bright safety light. My kids could not enjoy the fire or even sleep due to all the light pollution. The cabins also are stacked next to sharp barbed wire fencing that runs along back so don’t let your kids out of your sight! It’s kinda a poor condition koa compared to others we stayed in. Suggest staying someplace else.
We had a blast there. Stayed in a cabin. Very nice and clean!! Close to the town and a quick ride into Yellowstone national park. We liked the pool and the shop was stocked well. Will be back again.Rooms: 5/5
Overpriced for what you get, recommend staying in the park or elsewhere if you can find another place. Roads are poorly maintained, for $100+ per night per site, the staff could easily box blade the dirt roads in the campground. Pool water was pretty nasty the whole time. The maintenance staff was helpful and ready to assist when the electric plug burnt up at our site, unfortunately it fried our cord as well but they at least changed the receptacle quickly. Location is great but this campground is really kept to a standard they should accept for what they’re charging.
The cabins and the restrooms/bathrooms were clean - I was pleasantly surprised , despite the site being fully booked. Cabins are small and cozy and the site is quiet and dark. Pancakes and coffee available at the restaurant onsite.Rooms: 4/5
Pros: -The staff is very friendly -The campsites are kept well -My kids have a lot of fun stuff to do pool is clean and a good size, blow up thing is a lot of fun, basketball court is small and next to the dumpsters but my boys are cool with it. Cons: -When we arrived, we were told that due to a bear incident close by, we aren’t allowed to set up our canvas side beds we have a hybrid that is a hard trailer/tent trailer. This is for safety reason and that’s totally fair, I’m all for it. What I feel is not okay is that they waited to inform me of this once I was already there and checking in. There was no call or email sent out about it so we could decide beforehand if we’d like to change our plans. This has affected our entire stay, being that this is where our beds are. We’re a family of 5 sleeping on the floor of our trailer now, trying to make it work so we don’t have to end our trip early. From what I’ve read online from the rangers, this will be in affect until August 25th, 2023 or until rangers deem the area is safe again. So just a heads up for anyone who is planning to stay here with a hybrid trailer, tent trailer, or tent during this timeframe. -The showers are disgusting. A place where I’m supposed to be getting clean feels so gross. There was feces on the ground in one of them. -The laundry room here is VERY busy and half the dryers and a few of the washers are out of order. Make sure to bring cash, there is a quarter machine.
Place is nice with friendly staff in a perfect location, close to Yellowstone NP. Due to a "bear emergency" we had to "upgrade" our stay from a pop-up camper to a cabin. The cabin itself was ok, but there should be more restrooms and bathrooms/showers as they were extremely full and not in the greatest of conditions. Still recommended, if you are headed for the national park.
