I have been going here for 3+ years. During that time I’ve tried almost every machine, watched new machines come and go. It has been an fun place to work out, swim and climb. I will say, if you are annoyed with people hogging machines, do no come between 1pm-5pm. Terrible for people loitering on the machines and not actually working out, just socializing. Other than that, great place!
Seriously the best gym ever! Rock wall, pool, enormous weight rooms, indoor track for walking/running. And all the staff I've interacted with have been great!
We called the YMCA a worker picked up the phone and told us open swim was from 3:15-6:15PM. We got there around 4:30PM and they kicked us out 5 minutes into swimming. We were told towels were in the pool, etc. No towels were provided, and there were men taking photos in the locker room. It felt uncomfortable and extremely unsafe.
Great place. I think my family used to gym and rock wall more than anything but they loved it there. Very clean and a friendly staff.
So far I LOVE the Y. I love the pool classes and the cleanliness of the gym and equipment. Often busy but usually plenty of machines available. Kids loved the kids gym and rock wall. Daycare has been satisfactory so far. Getting a membership to the Y is definitely one of the best decisions I've made in a long time!
Awesome family friendly place to work out and let the kids have fun doing different activities.
This is an update to my previous review of the Y. As far as amenities and equipment the YMCA is great. Its a fantastic place for a variety of activities. Many of the staff do a very good job. Its a decent price for whats available to the members. The one star rating is because of the way the Y runs from the top. The CEO, Roger, makes approximately $155,000 per year publicly available information, claiming to work 50 hours per week. Ive spent a lot of time at the Y and I find it very hard to believe that he's actually there for that amount of time personal speculation. Most of the staff get paid a very low wage for the hard work they do. Its 2022, yet the Y pays many of its employees under $10 an hour. There shouldn't be a single position under $10 an hour. McDonald's is currently hiring starting at $15 per hour. The board members do not know what the younger crowd really wants and they sometimes get special treatment, like having a key and getting access to the Y outside of operating hours, while the employees are told that they cannot have access outside of hours. The Y always talks about how they can't afford anything yet they can afford to pay the CEO a ridiculous salary. Its unfortunate that Roger can sleep soundly knowing that the people who actually make the YMCA succeed are not treated fairly. Shame on him and some of the other management.
Love the facility. Switched do to childcare and the childcare staff is amazing!! Great CrossFit gym, track and rockwall
Facility is nice, programs are good. Too expensive for us. The front desk staff isn't particularly helpful, or mature. An older man, a member, very rudely and meanly accused my child of not being allowed in the workout area - she was of age, she was allowed and we were known there. He scared her and she never wanted to go back after that.
I love the Y so much! This place has changed my life. Not only that but the staff are super nice and the place is sooo clean. Like I've never seen a public facility so clean. The equipment is upkept, the parking lot is always managed, any issue I've had has been quickly resolved. The only reason its four stars and not 5 for me is the issue with discipline for the members that are rude. Particularly younger members but have had some adults too. Often there will be swearing in the basketball courts when there are kids, there are random kids wandering the building and messing with things. Honestly as a member its frusturating because if I let someone know the kid runs away or if I tell them to stop they sass me and say I cant do anything. Once I had to tell a kid to stop climbing on top of the bathroom stalls, liability issue and privacy issue as i was using a stall. Another time I witnessed a kid getting bullied in a raquetball court and I broke it up. I have told the staff about things but they are overwhelmed! I wish whoever is in charge would be more strict and kick these kids and adults out for a long time because I notice the same people coming back and doing it all over again. It angers me and makes my workout really unenjoyable to the point that I just wont come when there the times i know they will be there. YMCA please help.
