The Valparaiso ymca is amazing so far! Very clean! And well organized and amazing staff. Unlike what I experienced with the crown point ymca which was very unorganized.

It was amazing I love the cleanliness and the steam room is A+ I love the steam room it has good heat, sauna, pool, and hot tub but they could definitly increase the pressure of the jets that's a must need. With the the pressure higher it could massage our bodies more especially if we threw our backs out or something. But the place is awesome

I’ve only had my membership for a day and I am already disappointed with the Valpo YMCA. I went this evening to use the pool during its 2-hour open period, but it was closed due to staffing issues… this was the main reason my family started a membership with the Y. Very sad start. Although it is a beautiful facility, many of the large amenities namely the pool, have very small windows where they are open for use by all members. Do not expect the “open “ pool times to be accommodating. As a working professional who is only able to work out before work in the morning or after work in the late evening, I’m only given a 1-2 hour window at night to use the leisure pool with my family.

A terrific place with great staff, instructors and staff. I love the pools and mind-body yoga and pilates classes. Very reasonable membership and lots to do for seniors, kids, and dedicated fitness people too. Dance, swim, lift, use workout machines, take classes, learn new skills...this Y offers it all.

This is the best gym I've ever attended. Very affordable with lots of integrated services like childcare. They make it easy to stay fit.

The Valpo Y is probably the best YMCA I've ever been to! The kids pool area is a major attraction for kids of all ages. The weights and machines are all in one giant room with more than you'd need to get fit! Other YMCAs have aerobics and weights separate, which I feel is more comfortable for some.

Our main goal was to put our daughter into swim lessons which we paid for 1 on 1 up front. They would never schedule my daughter yet other people we spoke with at the kiddie pool were able to get scheduled right away. This went on for a few months, and many complaints later I decided to cancel and go somewhere else. We Never play this card, and I hate saying it but in this instance I believe it's true the swimming instructors maybe racist. we were also talked into a membership so we can use the pool when ever. Well the pool always has some kind of activity going so you could never use the pool. Same with the basketball courts and most of the facility. After this fiasco someone was supposed to call us and they never did. They just take peoples money and give false promises.

Friendly great staff. Kinda odd rules for the sauna but I get that they care about your safety

Front desk staff is terrible. First time here spent twenty minutes at the front desk trying to check-in for my swim lesson and all because the lady wouldn’t simply just confirm the lesson with the instructor. Real simple right? Nope she’d rather pace back and forth and keep asking random staff members random questions that won’t solve anything. Today I’m looking to meet my friend, once again for a swim lesson and we’ve been here multiple times at this point, and pay for a new set of lessons. I ask the girl at the check gate if she just had someone check in for lessons because I’m meeting a friend and she says she doesn’t know. Doesn’t ask anyone. Doesn’t follow-up. Nothing. So finally I ask can I just check the pool to see if my friend is here or not, because my friend isn’t answering her phone and she typically does. She’s like yeah that’s fine. Low and behold there’s my friend already in the pool at OUR lesson. I’m so annoyed at this point. There’s no communication or organization at check-in. Issue could have been resolved with simple follow-up. Front desk needs to be retrained.
