We had a good 4 day stay in a tent site with rain structure that was a good size compared to some other yogi places we have stayed and much cleaner. Everyone was mostly friendly and helpful. You'll def need a cart at this location as it's a far walk anywhere. Front desk didn't tell us when we rented we needed a license on file so we had to make several long trips to our site and back to be able to get it situated. Also wish they'd tell you the movie choice upfront instead of letting the kids choose from 1 or 2 movies front desk told us it would be 4-5 choices so we can easily decide if we want to attend or not without having to talk all the way to the movie theater. Verizon doesn't get service on the property. We had fun with the water park and pools.
EDITED TO SAY that the manager contacted me. Was very apologetic and gave us a bit of a refund to offset the issues we encountered. I appreciate that they cared enough to reach out. The park itself was nice. Beautiful view of the mountains. We were there during off season so the only amenity available to us was the pool which was descent. However, the bees at the pool were awful! We had to move several times to try and get away from them. My son loves to fish so he enjoyed the lake. He caught 3 big catfish so it is well stocked. We stayed in a premium cabin which was a nice size for our family. The cabin itself was dirty. The floors were so filthy that they left your feet black. The futon was nasty and we would not sit on it without laying a blanket down first. The coffee pot and coffee cups were dirty as well. We brought plastic utensils and paper plates so we didn't need to use anything other than the coffee cups. There were many big ants crawling all over and we had an unwelcomed guest make a few appearances - a mouse. We found mouse droppings inside the lower cabinet and on the frying pan. It is understood that with camping you can encounter these unwanted pests however, we have stayed at 3 other Yogi sites and have never had this issue. As a matter of fact, at the other resorts we would see exterminators spraying. We had ordered the bed linens and were missing a pillowcase. We asked several times and were told housekeeping would bring one to us but they never did. We were given a half roll of toilet paper and had to hunt down someone driving around doing housekeeping to get another roll. The most upsetting part of our stay was that the stake and 30 foot tie out cable we brought for our dog was removed from our campsite. Our grill area was gravel so we could not put the stake in the ground so we wrapped part of the cable around the pole of the grill. The stake was on our picnic table. On our 3rd day there we noticed that both the stake and cable were missing. Upon further inspection, we noticed that someone had stopped by and cleaned the charcoal out of the grill while we were out. They did not clean it out the other days which was odd. It was obvious that we had not checked out because our golf cart was parked at the cabin. We believe whoever cleaned the grill untied the cable and took it. We immediately called the front desk and they sent a ranger over. They told us they would look for it and talk to the person who was working maintenance that day. Up until the day we left they claimed they were still working on it. I called the day after we returned home to follow-up and was told they would call me if they found it. I never received a call. I feel even if they didn't find it they could have called to let me know that and apologize for what happened to us. For this reason alone, I would not return here.
Here's my experience good and bad. I'll start with the good. Nice amenities, the pool area is great! The park is beautiful with mountain backdrop and lots of surrounding nature. Overall, the place seemed clean. The food is not bad either, a bit overpriced but that comes with the territory I suppose. Overall, the staff was good. I had an issue and they did their best to respond as quickly as possible. However, they did appear stressed out - not just with my situation but with an abundance of issues they were dealing with. From my perspective, it appears the place is mismanaged. Which leads me to the "bad"... It's a bad deal if you're renting a cabin. For $290 / night, you get a wooden box with beds that feel like you're sleeping on cinder blocks, a bathroom, and fridge. The Jellystone in Natural Bridge gives you a small kitchen stocked with silverware, pots, pans, etc. plus a small screened porch to sit down. We had an issue that didn't get settled until 6pm the day of check in. That issue being the cabin we rented locked my wife and kids inside. They couldn't get out, so I requested to be moved and the only cabins left were an upgrade from the one I rented. We were charged an extra $100 for the upgrade, despite the fact the cabin we were assigned was not functional. Watch out for the arcade, it took our money and staff will tell you to call a third party company to get it back. Not working that hard to get a dollar back, but just be aware of that. If I were to go back it would only be to rent a pad to park an RV or Camper. The cabin rentals are a waste of money and quite uncomfortable considering how much you pay. We've visited the one near Natural Bridge and had a much different experience. Would recommend that location over Luray.
We booked a camping cabin, and while we knew it would be basic, it did not meet our expectations. The floor was very dirty and there was graffiti all around the bunk area. The air conditioner didn't help very much due to the poor insulation, and most of the screens were busted out, so we couldn't even open windows! Had we known all of this, we would have just booked a tent site. Otherwise, the rest of the resort was great. Bathrooms can get gross/wet during the day but that's expected in a water park. Dog park was more like a play pen for our dog - very small! Definitely get a golf cart as the common areas are a far walk from the back of the campground. We enjoyed the scenery and our visit to Luray Caverns.
My family and I stayed at this resorts for 4 days and loved every minute of it! The cabin was beautiful! They had a lot of stuff for children to do, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The park is well kept and clean. We really enjoyed are stay and will be back next summer! Thanks to the staff, y’all are very appreciated!Rooms: 5/5
The premium tent spots are great! They're actually wooded, give you space and come with a shelter. There's so much stuff to do for kids, you can't get bored. We didn't see anyone catching any fish in the pond, nor did we get any bites- that was kinda disappointing. They could use more help at the picnic basket, those guys seemed pretty overwhelmed. The food was great though! Would love to go back! Noteworthy details: We only saw yogi bear for a split second riding a golf cart, but we did stay on a weeknight.
Had a wonderful stay. Picked a red carpet back on site and it didn’t not disappoint. Great service at the pool and shop. Only took a star away for the golf cart rental. Waited around for a while along with another family. Beautiful camp ground, great location. Only request we have is that they fix one of the play grounds we’re the slides have rather large drops at the end. Nearby activities: Fairgrounds, Town of Luray, Caverns, Wisteria Vineyards, Castle vineyards, blue shepherd distillery, Riverhill Distillery, hawksbill brewery, west main market, Luray zoo
Booked 5 nights wed-sun. Drove 6 hours from NYC, it’s a great campground for families my kids had a ball. There is also a lot of activities going on during the day. I would have given 5 stars but an incident on Saturday rubbed myself and my husband the wrong way. An older gentleman senior driving a ranger cart , as we just left our site he started yelling as we were driving past him we stopped he circled back and aggressively said I could not drive the golf cart when my husband said why he said she does not have a band on to drive the cart, and he was quite loud and he actually sat there until I put it back on. I just forgot to put it back on after showering my husband stated to him it wasn’t that serious she has a band which was in the golf cart and we felt he did it because I am and black while my husband is not, my husband was quite annoyed and rightfully so. I don’t always go to the race ,but after seeing all of the other people who were driving with no band I felt my husband right about me being stopped. We decided to leave a day early. You don't drive 6 hours for mistreatment, a simple hey ma’am don’t forget to put your band on would have went a long way meanwhile we saw little kids driving golf carts smh. Go figure, no one goes on vacation to be racially targeted! Would not return or recommend !!
I read some mixed reviews on here but went for it anyway. So happy I did! My cabin C035 was an awesome location and pretty clean. Everything was like they pictured it during booking. I had an issue with the coffee pot and they were very kind and responsive in handling the problem. The hours for things could be better but overall wonderful experience! Beautiful place!
We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights with a group of 15, 3 cottages and an RV pull thru site. All of the activities for our kids were amazing and the water park was a huge hit.The staff was super friendly and helpful. The lodging was a different story. Our friend next door had half power and needed breakers exchanged two different times. our cottage had plenty of room but was very dirty. Our front door wasn’t on straight, our windows had gaps around the window air conditioners so we constantly had ants everywhere, the weeds were growing up around the stairs and cottage and our picnic table was bowed and you couldn’t sit comfortably. We still enjoyed ourselves but I would have been able to rate our stay higher if our accommodations had been better especially for the amount of money we spent for the cottage.
