3 stars only because over half the campground is cram packed with camper trailers that are less than 30' from the next trailer. We stayed in the primitive camping area which was much closer to what we prefer. If you prefer the great outdoors and seclusion from crowds of people then this isn't for you. If you like a spot with very clean bathrooms and showers all around, a fun splash pad, great staff, and don't mind a very crowded campground full of trailers and golf carts and tons of people, then this is a great place.
I am sure my grandkids would give this park 5 stars. It is a nice park. We felt the grass was way too long. There was no shade at all on our site. The park is loud but that is to be expected with that many kids. Too many golf carts with bright lights on at night while you are trying to enjoy a fire. I was disappointed that the ‘big’ pool was so small. It is small in size and also only goes to 4’. It was crowded all the time. The splash park was a huge hit, however the first day there were a few bully kids and no staff to oversee. A 10 yr old big kid picking on small kids is not acceptable. The wave pool or toddler pool was nice, but can get crowded as well. It was nice to see the grandkids have so much fun, but really no need to go unless you have kiddos.
The owners and staff are amazing and extremely helpful. I was there with two grandchildren and had a dead battery, the owner helped us out until we the issue was fully resolved. The grandkids had an amazing time with so many activities to do. They even have activities for teens. Highly recommend this location for a family vacation.
We have been 2 years in a row now. Cabins are very clean, and everyone is very nice. The park is extremely clean and there are tons of things to do for the kids. Some of the things may cost extra, but they are nothing that overly expensive. It is a very nice campground.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and the activities were cool but not well spelled out during the week. The water park was a little disappointing as a lot was broken or not working but the water slides and bucket drop where a hit. Grab souvenir cups for the slushy it's so worth it.
Managment was incredible and extended the best possible service. The hiking trails were also really beautiful late Oct. the only reason they didn’t get 5 was because of the pests. I can see a fly or 3 getting in from time to time but 20-30 everytime you open the door?? The campground was completely empty when I got there and I had to leave a day early because the flies were so bad. Call ahead and ask about the yellow jackets and flies. I was stung just sitting in my chair on the concrete pad outside my door. You couldn’t be outside without getting attacked by both. I asked about changing sites and they said the whole park was that way “because kids left out candy wrappers” was excuse I was given for yellow jackets…I can’t for the life of me figure out how there were so many flies….I will have nightmares for life…. I had recently purchased a new trailer and to try it out before leaving the state I parked it there. There is so much fly guts everywhere now as every night I couldn’t sleep till all 50-60 were killed….each night!!!!! They had no fly paper only a fly swatter that they sold me for 3 bucks. Unfortunately my lasting feeling of that place is disgust. There had to be something they could have done to prevent “human created pests.”
This has always been my favorite campground to come to since my son was 2. We come 2-3 times a year. This, unfortunately, might be the last time we come here. Their nickel and dime strategy of revenue is very frustrating. They have changed so many rules that takes away fun for the kiddos and adults. Sad…really is…
This is a wonderful, well kept, family run campground, and the owners and staff go over and beyond for their guests. We are seasoned campers but this was our first time staying at a Jellystone campground and it definitely won't be out last - our kids had so much fun they can't wait to come back. There are so many things to do - activities and crafts every hour to keep the whole family entertained. It was so fun meeting Yogi bear, Boo Boo, Cindy Bear, and the Ranger. We made so many great family memories!!!
In all fairness to the resort, we weren't the target demographic. If you like non-stop, all-day kid pop music playing over loudspeakers, this may be the place for you. It tends to be very crowded on weekends and, despite the rules, people let their dogs run loose. There isn't a dog park either. The park facilities are decently clean and the staff members were fine, although not especially responsive to issues. You have to wear a plastic bracelet the whole time you're a guest which can be an issue for people with sensory issues or sensitive skin. The only way to remove it is to cut it off so you even have to shower and sleep in it. We won't be back but I can see that people who enjoy large crowds and want lots of activities for young children would like it.
I need to share our experience at this Yogi Bear! We have visited now for the last 5 year and each year they continue to put money back into the park. The staff is friend and really has a goal of make the best experience for the kids. Thank you so much and we will see you again next year!
