This place is awesome for small kids excited to see a few cool animals, but honestly underwhelming and kind of disheartening for anyone with half a brain.. The animals are sad, they didn't have water even when it was 89°F.. It was absolutely very cool to see species you'd otherwise never see, but the place seemed pretty rundown honestly.. All but maybe 2 of the pay to get animal feed dispensers were full, but broken and unusable. My daughter and I enjoyed it; the butterfly enclosure was our absolute favorite thing, so cool! I however definitely felt like there were some major improvements that could stand to be made to the entire establishment.
Was lots of fun! Parakeets house was by far the most fun and entertaining! Baby zebra was adorable! The rides were also good! Gift shop had quite a lot to look and was a little pricey but was nice to walk through. Overall a really great day!
Good variety of animals, from African lions to kangaroos. Very interactive with a goat petting area and horse/camel riding. It's geared towards kids but the adults will find themselves feeling like a kid again. Don't miss the butterfly exhibit or the parakeet house!Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Had a blast! Got their right when it opened and there was plenty of parking, no wait to get in. We enjoyed seeing and feeding quite a few different animals and then ate lunch which was pretty great for fair type food! at a table in the shade and the kids rode the rides! It was a family get together centered around three cousins age 3 to 6, but the adults enjoyed it thoroughly as well.
Fun birthday trip for my six year old son! York’s has many beginner rides that are perfect for his age. I was sad that the tigers are no longer there, as they were always my highlight of our visit over the years. Surprised and disappointed that they close at 5PM, because we missed about half of the animals due to assuming they would be open later. Also, they are very understaffed, which meant less food and beverage choices spread throughout the park and zoo. Overall, still a great day for our kiddo on his big day and we will always return.
The good - way bigger than expected and reasonably priced, feeding all the different animals is a unique experience, the carnival portion provides extra entertainment, and a lot of different animals. The bad - not AZA certified and some of these animals look like they're on the brink of suicide, the carnival rides seem somewhat outdated, and there are no maps of the zoo due to COVID?
This place has gone downhill. I don't think anyone's done any maintenance or upkeep since we were last here 15 years ago. The place looks rundown and overgrown. The lion exhibit is the saddest thing I've ever seen at a zoo and I can't believe it's even legal. Having said all that, our 3 and 5 year olds still liked the small rides and it was pretty inexpensive. The butterfly part was a big hit too. But overall, not what I remembered nor will we go again.
This sad animal kingdom and amusement park needs updating, repairs, safety improvements, happy employees, better animal conditions, a map and signage The algae bloom is horrid - the walkway for strollers is dangerous for littles...there is nothing preventing a child from falling in the green duck pond. The tar is hazardous, so many things in disrepair/disregarded, it's just sad. And it's expensive. Expect to be nickel and dimed to death and not overly amused.
We visited the zoo with family including a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old. We all enjoyed our visit. It was a very hot day so a lot of the animals were sleeping, understandably. Trails/paths could use some TLC. There were a few animals missing, i.e. Tiger, Giraffe and no bears of any kind. It’s an affordable way to spend a day with family and/or friends. Overall it is a very nice zoo and I would highly recommend checking it out! 8/5/22
Loved it!!! The only place amongst so many other zoos that lets you feed...the Birds or the deer or the goat. Amazing place for kids to hang out with their parents and granny's :
