Get the Fried Chicken dinner. Mashed potatoes and gravy are really great. If you order ahead, they’ll tell you how long it takes before pickup. Dessert is also great. Dine-in option is very inviting. Oh-and their burgers are very tasty if you decide to go that route instead. Everything is made the way you like it!
Young's is a neat, simple, and retro eatery tucked back behind a gas station in Valley Park. The prices are really, really cheap given that you are getting fresh, home-cooked grub. I loved the fried chicken and mashed potatoes, with only the green beans being slightly average. The two folks I was with also loved their chili dog and cheeseburger, both with fries. We didn't indulge in any ice cream but they have a full offering and I am sure it is delicious. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall, local joint worth checking out. Update: Young's has since become a favorite for our friends and my first 4-star review was insufficient. The catfish platter is amazing, and folks we go with continue to rave about the friend chicken, burgers, and yes, the ice cream!
Excellent food especially the chicken and great service! Will visit again when in the area!!
I called ahead because I had been moving furniture all day. I called at 5:30. They said the order would be ready at 6. I sat around waiting until 6 because I lived 4 min away. Got there, not only had they not made my food, they weren’t even sure what I had ordered. I asked multiple times on the phone is fries came with their burger and was told yet. When my food eventually was made, no fries with the burger. Owner/ manager offered to make me some but I was already exhausted so I left. Food is amazing as usual but the staff is under trained meanwhile the owner/ manager is fluttering around trying to do everything herself instead of properly training her staff.
Family owned. Very friendly staff. Good food. What’s not to love! I had the fish and chips with an apple pie concrete. The concrete was phenomenal and the fish was tender and cooked perfectly. If I had to be nitpicky, I would’ve liked the fries to be a bit crispier/saltier.
Fantastic food for a great price! Don't let the setting fool you--the food here is terrific. It's not very often you can feed a family of five with dessert for under $50 and have everyone walk away full and happy. We even spoke with the owner for a bit the "youngest Young" as he called himself - - very nice and pleasant to chat with. He gave us the history of the place and the area - - Young's has been around a while! Very much recommended!
Had the chicken strips and an order of jalapeno poppers. Both were absolutely delicious. Nice quaint little place, clean, staff was very friendly. Didn't get any icecream or pie, but when I go back and I will I will try it
Not crowded at all but took a very long time for our order. Was going to get ice cream after dinner but while we were eating they ran out of chocolate ice cream and twist. This was our first time in so we will give it another try to see if dinning experience is same.
We had a late lunch on 2/5. The staff was very friendly. The food was really good. I especially liked the onion rings. The ice cream was really good too. We will definitely go back. Parking: Parking on the side of the building
The food and service here was amazing. My friend and I came here for food after a run at Castlewood State Park and were both really happy we chose this place. The milkshake and cat fish, fries, and hush puppies basket was very good!
