Small airport but very convenient, security check is fast, but Air Canada flights are often delayed
It might be the smallest airport in Canada. But it has almost you need except no open coffee store! It was one but has been down during the pandemic. So, making sure you have eaten something before entering the security line! Staff is very nice!
Such a great little airport. Friendly staff, easy to navigate and comfortable. Worth staring and ending your journey here. None of the chaos and attitude of the bigger airports.
An aggressive and abusive conversation coming from the Air Canada Representative named Shelly April 17 at 5:15 pm at the Air Canada Desk left me feeling extremely shocked and appalled!! An Air Canada flight from Vancouver to Toronto to Windsor AC 8351 proved to be a nightmare when Toronto lost and did not fly my very expensive race bike to my final destination Windsor. The bike has an Apple air tag so I could see it was left in Toronto when I arrived in Windsor and did not receive the bike. The first representative I spoke with when I landed at 8:30 am was very helpful and filed the missing bike claim to locate the bike and have the bike sent on the next plane AC 8359 at 5:19. I patiently waited the entire day until at 4:15 pm I could see from the apple air tag tracker that the bike was not being loaded into the plane, I called the Air Canada Baggage number and a representative was able to call baggage and ensure the bike was loaded and called Windsor Airport to let them know I will be arriving to pick up the bike as soon as AC 8359 lands. I approached the Air Canada desk at 5:15 to let the rep know I was here to pick up my bike and was met with anger and hostility and ver coarse voice saying “ the flight just landed .. it just landed so leave this desk and go to B and wait there, I know who you are and what you doing and that rep you called is somewhere in India and knows nothing about what we do here! It was so rude and aggressive in tone that I stopped and stood there shocked. I continued to ask questions about where the oversized luggage is delivered. And the rudeness continued to the point I had to say, “ Shelly , why are you being so rude and angry!! my equipment was lost by your airline and I need it for a race, this is stressful to me and I need to ask questions about where to go because I don’t know” “ she kept repeating and cutting me off … yup… yup … just go stand over there… yup I understand.. okay.. yup, okay yup, go over there… leave this desk and go … and pointing. She was angry and rude and it was very upsetting and I left feeling completely disrespected with her aggressive tone. I am a professional in the service of others and a very respectful person even when I have been massively inconvenienced. She did not apologize for the wasted time and stress it cost me, instead she was angry and rude with a loud and raised voice to the point of yelling! Is this is the type of representatives Air Canada is hiring??? Is this the type of reps that Windsor Airport allows to work there??? Shelly needs an attitude adjustment and maybe some communication retraining, maybe Windsor Airport and Air Canada can help her with that so she can serve others better in the future!
Small but clean airport. Great for fast customs clearance. Chairs and other seating are in good shape. Little cafe to pickup small snacks. Free WIFI. Friendly staff. True small city feel.
Quick and easy to move through the facility. There are definitely some opportunities to make it even better with some updated technologies.
Pretty small and neat airport. Very less number of flights travel here. The security line up was slow as they had only one security line working.
Tiny airport but so easy to navigate. You have to take your own bag over to the conveyor belt to be loaded. TSA is very simple go through and the agents were friendly. The lounge in Gate 1 was reasonably priced and the food was delicious. There are plenty of reasonably priced hotels nearby with a cheap taxi ride to the airport.
On February 13 I had to make an emergency flight with Air Canada as I was checking my bag the young man at the desk advised that my bag would actually fit in the overhead and sent me off to security. While waiting at the gate I again checked with the girl at the gate and she also advised me it was ok. When boarding started I was sent through in the first set, while walking to the plane the same young man took my bags and helped me up the stairs to my seat and stowed my bags. I have never had such courteous and exemplary service and want to say thank you to the staff at the airport.
This airport is so modern, but small. I love it! Easy to find your flight! Very little people and no wait at all! Planes are bumpy and small but that has nothing to do with airport. I love it! Snacks are for sale, and you are guaranteed to never miss a flight. I normally use Detroit for flights but Windsor airport makes it so much easier and stress free to travel. Great prices too
