Local Restaurant Bar with Great Deals, Amazing Food, Awesome People, and Live Music!!!
In the early 1900s my family acquired 143,000 acres in Arizona which became the Z Ranch (pronounced Zee Bar Ranch). There was no electricity, running water, or inside plumbing and the radio barely had reception, but there was a lot of hard work, good food and great camaraderie. Almost 100 years later the land has been sold off but, lucky for me, my family still owns the Z brand. Now 2010, I am working hard to recapture the history and legacy of the Z Ranch with an amazing menu and lively country bar where locals and visitors alike can enjoy each other’s company. Our food is a mix of delicious ranch and family favorites that are sure to please after a long day at work or on the mountain, just as it did after a long day of herding cattle. One item I cannot live without is the Texas Chocolate Cake. (My Great Granddad grew up on a ranch in Texas, thus the name). I still ask my Mom to make it for my birthday every year. As for the bar, I want it to reflect and be worthy of my Granddad, John Turbeville, and all the entertaining stories about him. My Granddad was smart, handsome, honorable, loyal, a hero, the best horseman and quite a character. My favorite story about him is that when he was in college he rode his horse into a bar (please don’t try and reenact this)… Oh and he was a Marlborough Man… The Elk that watches over the restaurant is named Big JT in honor of him. I want Z Ranch (the restaurant) to be about family and friends, wonderful food, good drinks, swapping stories, and having a memorable time just as it was in the 1900s. (With electricity, running water, indoor plumbing and great music… of course!)
