Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort

About

Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort offers the finest package of lodging, dining and activities in the Utah National Parks region. At Zion Ponderosa you can literally walk from your cabin to the border of Zion National park.

Description

The beautiful plateau east of Zion National Park is the home of Zion Ponderosa Ranch and Resort. Up here, where the wind blows the cooler air through the Zion summer, we have a wide variety of lodging, recreation, and dining options.

While staying with us, guests can stay in accommodations ranging from a simple tent site to a large vacation home for 30 or more. Tents can be rented here for a nightly fee, or bring your own and set up camp. We also have RV sites with full hook-ups and are adding more this summer. Our covered wagons can sleep four in slightly more shelter than a tent would give. Cowboy Cabins are the most basic cabin we offer, with a heated bedroom and room enough for six. Upgrading to the Cabin Suite for four or six provides a kitchenette and a small bathroom. Finally, our vacation homes on the East Zion Ridge provide a range of sizes and amenities. Please call our office if you have any questions.

On site, we have activities for all ages and interests. Our guided ATV tours take guests out to amazing viewpoints and exciting trails. If you don't want to ride an ATV, but still want to experience the back roads, our jeep tours can take a family off-roading with a bit more security. Canyoneering is a unique experience that anyone who wants adventure should look into. Canyoneering allows you to repel down into slot canyons and work your way down through them with our experienced recreation staff.

Since we are 20 minutes from a restaurant or grocery store, Zion Ponderosa Ranch and Resort offers a variety of on-site dining options. Gus and Rosey's, our indoor buffet, is open 3 meals a day. The poolside grill, Bart's Burgers, is a great lunch-time option. For fine-dining we offer the outdoor patio Blue Belly Grill for dinners. Catering and private events in the restaurant tent are also available.

My partner and I only stayed here for a day, but we had a really good experience! All of the staff is incredibly helpful! First, we lost a wallet, and they contacted as many people as they could to find the wallet! Then, we left our clothes in the dryer and only realized when we were 200 miles away. I have no idea how , but they immediately checked the dryers for us and began the process to ship it back to us! There were so many activities available too. We did horseback riding and had a really good time! Our guide was Parker. He was very knowledgeable with horses and very patient with us too. I’d recommend bringing cash to this activity, so you can tip them afterwards! Overall this place was very nice and exceeded my expectations. I’d definitely recommend this for anyone - but especially a family. We booked last minute and didn’t expect much, but everything from the food to the activities was great and worth every penny!
We liked the proximity to Zion NP and the grounds were nice with plenty of activities to partake in. We spent most of our time in the park and only got to enjoy the pool, which was nice. We ate dinner and lunch in the restaurant, which we were happy with as well. What we didn't enjoy is our tent campsite which was basically in the group sites. There was no separation. Across from our camping spot was a charter bus with an entire teen group. Little farther down the road there was another and yet a third group farther away. This meant very loud campgrounds until midnight and bathrooms/showers that were packed, which meant we needed to use the facilities far away at the pool. Most campgrounds have the logic that group sites are going to naturally be louder, and therefore not close to individual sites. This, unfortunately, put a pretty big sour visit to our trip. If you stay here in a tent, request to be as far away from the group site as possible and hope for the best.
Great little place to stay that is nearby to Zion national Park. It has some really cool activities that you can purchase while there. My biggest issue with them is that the road that leads to their facility is just a gravel road and can be pretty hard on a car. Everyone I spoke to was very nice and polite. Their breakfast sandwich is very tasty and fairly reasonable in price as far as the other food is concerned I can't speak to it because I didn't eat any of it. We stayed in a tent campsite and it wasn't very expensive just under $30 per night. Nearby activities: Plenty of activities that are offered by the property or affiliate companies. Including horseback riding, ATV trail runs, and River activities.
If you are looking for an incredible vacation that will create amazing memories that will last a lifetime - look no further! We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Ponderosa Resort. We stayed at the Kolob Cabin. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The living spaces fit our large group of people with ease. The resort has tennis and pickle ball courts, mini golf, and swimming pools! It offered so much more but that’s all we were able to do in our short stay. We also made time to attend the sunrise yoga class. It was worth waking up early for the inspiring class and breaking view. Kayla R made our reservation process so simple and quick. Our vacation would not have been as wonderful as it was without her. She was a delight to work with. I left the resort very impressed. I’ll be coming back again soon.
The staff at the Ponderosa are amazing! We can’t say enough great things about them. Jenny #2 made great recommendations for hikes in the area which was a huge help and made us feel a lot better about the narrows being closed and not getting an Angel’s Landing permit. Everyone was so helpful and kind. The location was good with easy access to observation point and the park boundaries. With the park running on a shuttle, the drive to the visitor centre was a little longer than we were hoping. There are also not many options for eating. We booked a cabin hoping to have a clean shower reserved for our use. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the cabin when we arrived. Overall a great atmosphere and lots to do right on the property.
My three-day stay at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort was absolutely beautiful! The location is stunning, with breathtaking views of Zion National Park. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the accommodations were top-notch, with clean and cozy cabins. The resort had a variety of activities to choose from, including horseback riding and zip-lining, as well as hiking trails that allowed us to explore the beautiful surroundings. The facilities, including the pool and hot tub, were clean and well-maintained. The food was delicious, and the dining area had a great atmosphere. Overall, I had an incredible experience and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a unique and beautiful vacation. 5 stars!
We stayed in a vacation rental. This place was amazing and it had everything. I love all the free activities you could do on-site. We are already talking about going back with a larger group. If you want to get outdoors but need some more amenities than a cot, I highly recommend staying here. We had a great time, and we can't wait to go back. Nearby activities: Jeep tours, stargazing tours, mini golf, basketball, tennis courts, horseback riding, Foosball, paddle board,
Overall, this resort is a good experience, but in need of some updates /upkeep. There is a ton of stuff to do which is great for families or different groups. The showers/ bathrooms were outdated. They were a decent size though. The playground could use some love, but that didn't stop my 4 year old from enjoying it. The staff were helpful in providing a pack n play for our one year. We stayed in a glamping tent. We had a critter eat some bananas in our tent, so don't think it's totally safe. The linens were clean and fresh, but the floor was extremely dirty even for a tent. The location was great from Zion. Some might think it a little far but we thought the drive went quickly due to the amazing views. Nearby activities: Located on the East side of Zion National park the drive is not too bad and it's gorgeous to take in the sights as you drive in. Perfect for those who may be national park hopping! Walkability: Everything in the resort was very walkable. They had golf carts to rent, but they aren't 100% necessary. Food & drinks: It is nice that there is food available but it was average at best. Breakfast on a weekday at 9 ran out of things and we had to wait.
Great family camp vacation with many options and outdoor activities. We've been going for 25 years. This place is he developed from simple cowboy cabin to deluxe Spa.. of course the prices have have also been enhanced. The real attraction is the national park and state parks in the area. Be sure to schedule at least half a day to do the East Rim trail and Observation point. Rooms: Accommodations range from cowboy cabins and camping all the way up to luxury homes Nearby activities: East rim Zion National Park Food & drinks: Deluxe newly remodeled cafeteria with custom pizzas, hamburgers and other comfort foods and lots of drink options
We stayed on the Conestoga wagon for 2 nights while doing a canyoneering trip. It slept our family of 6 like a charm and had the feel of camping but without having to bring all the gear and getting a better night sleep. The continental breakfast that was free with the room was adequate for adults. My kids thought it was great. We all enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub’s after a nice long day of hiking.
