This is a nice little zoo! Handicap accessible in all aspects. Lots of fun things to do! You can feed giraffes and small parakeets. If you want to feed the giraffes, you need to pay at the window when you buy admission into the zoo. Giraffe feeding is at 11 am! There are 2 concession stands to get snacks and drinks. Great view of Lake Michigan at the back of the zoo!
This is a smaller zoo, but it is well worth the time to visit. I saw nearly as many animals up close here as I have at some larger zoos. Plus, this zoo is designed for children with a multitude of playground areas and many benches to rest while family members ride the Zoo Choo train. Come have some fun.
I hadn't been there since I was a kid well over 40 years ago. I was very nice to return. It is very well upkept, the animals all look healthy and their environment is clean and maintained. They have started charging and I was more than fine with paying $22 for 2 adults. It is not a large Zoo, but I really enjoyed it and photographing the animals. I will go again for sure.
Nice zoo with a number of the Big 5 animals like a rhino, lions, a zebra, a bear, etc. Even if you visit late afternoon, when the animals hide more, it's still worth a visit. Lots of green area, and there's a train tram around the park for $3 per person. The animals also have the option to have quiet in buildings if there are too many visitors. Nice location on the lake, but tends to be a bit winder and cooler. There are several interactive exhibits for kids, like a goat and sheep area where kids can brush the animals and a parakeet cage that you can enter and feed them. Visitors can also walk around kangaroo and emu area no cages. There's also a large playground with slides and a climbing structure. Bringing your own snacks is ok!
Went there 8/18/23 my daughter and 11 yr old grandson are in visiting and we were here 8 yrs ago and wanted to go back. What an HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. No animals around and place looked like it hasn't been kept up with the weeds in the outside exhibits and the empty exhibits. The goats wanted nothing to do with people the parakeets were all in there corners as there were people in there "trying" to feed them. The penguins were all huddled by the door wanting to go in. It was just real sad to see how bad it has become with all the "activities" they advertise. I paid $31. For us to get in I hope it goes for a good cause. I couldn't even buy a key chain they were all "sold out" very sad. Was really looking forward to it. Very disappointed. Took us an hour to walk around.
A number of the exhibits were closed, which I thought was odd as it is after Memorial Day. I would have thought everything would be open. They do have a pretty good selection of animals considering it is a smaller zoo. Some of the exhibits are only viewable from a very small window and it can be hard to view. They do have a small train you could take if walking is hard. We did eat at the grill and the food was ok. The staff we did interact with were all very friendly.
It was amazing. My husband and I went on our wedding anniversary. It was perfect easy to get around and see everything. The little snack shop was really good. Plenty of bathrooms throughout the zoo. The staff was very friendly. Lots of animals to see. Not too expensive either. I recommend everyone go there at least once. We will be going back for sure.
I love Racine Zoo! We have a variety of animals that seem to be excited and happy little creatures. The zoo staff is wonderful and attentive. The education programs along with other opportunities the zoo offers are exceptional as well. 10/10 recommend!
Drove an hour to get here only to find that most of the exhibits are closed. That was pretty disappointing. We had no idea the tiger died recently due to surgery complications. You'd think they would put a nice sign on her enclosure notifying guests & to pay tribute to her. I guess not. Also find it odd there is no privacy fencing along the back of the giraffe enclosure, so you can see right into the neighbor's private backyard & see all of their vehicles parked in their driveway. Very odd. Thankfully it was cheap to get in and parking is free. My daughter had a good time of course since she's only 2 and is easily amused. Seeing her happy made the visit worth it.
Cute zoo for the size. Sadly missing 2 main attractions currently- no bear & no tiger.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
