I filled up yesterday and then had to wait 20mins to pay as they only had one working card machine - on one of the busiest travel days before Christmas. I had planned to take a break, but the outside of the rest area was full of litter and disgusting. I just carried on and drove to my destination. I won’t stop there ever again.
The engen 1-stop is again very conveniently located and with the wimpy and bakery it is easy to just catch a quick snack and fill up your car and the restrooms are in good condition as well. It has more than ample parking and is open 24 hours a day with very nice scenery
WIMPY RIP OFF-We won't ever stop there again. The Wimpy staff apparently abuse the FNB free burger App per Izak "The boss" so when our voucher reflected as processed and it apparently reflected on their side as failed, they refused to try and resolve the matter with FNB and we were told to pay in full.. When we requested a hand written note indicating that the voucher had been redeemed by their system and then failed that was also refused. Patrick then marched us through to Izak the boss as he called him like 2 criminals where we were informed, after Patrick was asked to leave, that he has a problem with staff abusing the system for their friends. We were clearly not one of their friends but clearly we couldnt be trusted either, despite providing the FNB voucher number, Izak's resolution was to have us pay for the meal and, IF he got the money from FNB in the next week or so, he would refund us! If not, tough luck, but his shop still gets the sale. We left with no valid voucher and no meal having wasted 30 mins to boot. Absolutely shocking lack of service. Will never go back to that Engen 1 Stop. 1 less family today may not mean much but down the line, with that attitude, more will do the same.
Very friendly service. Me been an inlander I was just reminded that only 95 petrol is sold in costal areas. To my shock of finding the station with only two pumps…one for petrol one for diesel. Lesogana le sa sepeleng le nyala kgaetšedi.
Good place to stop and refresh before continuing your trip downwards. Petrol attendants' service is good like with most Engen garages They offer to wash your screen, check oil & tires
This place is TOTALLY SAFER THAN THE SHELL ULTRA CITY A FEW KM'S DOWN THE ROAD..... the whole ENGEN 1 STOP has been FULLY revamped and no bad elements hanging around
My first time stopping here. The filling station service was impeccable, the guys were friendly and very helpful. The toilets were clean and staff was readily available.
Engen Wimpy standards in terms of cleanliness, smell and upkeep of the wimpy is going down. Such a horrible urine smell emanating from inside the store. Floors under the table had food as it wasn't swept. There's a damp stinky stench all around. Nevertheless the service was good and so was the coffee and tea. They unfortunately never ever have muffins in stock.
The Garage and the shop was great. The restrooms very clean. BUT THE WIMPY's non existent service took us to the Escourt stop along the N3 to have a beautiful meal with spritely tidy staff.
Best wimpy ever....Sneh u made my day today.. best waitress..keep it up sister.
