Been coming to this practice for about 5 years. It is a good practice and the doctors are normally very good. My only issue is that in the past 3 years there hasn't been permanent doctors as they keep leaving. This is not only difficult because I have to recite medical history and medications every time I go but it also raises some alarm bells. It could be nothing and despite this I have received good medical treatment here every visit. Thank you to all the doctors I've had and have for the good treatment and to all the nurses and staff.
Don't waste your time. After going under new management we visited once, and our visits were covered. Since then, now they are a cash only practice so we are unable to use our co-payment option with Discovery. It is so unfortunate that a practice will throw away so many patients that have relied on this facility as their main doctors practice for quite some time. What a cold move to make, with lack of care felt as the attitude towards the regular patients. Rather visit Dr DuPlessis & Partners down the road in Fourways - at least there the doctors are consistent and your medical aid co-payment option actually works.
The doctors; James Essay is great. Today I went to Dr Wallace and she is an absolutely wonderful, thorough, knowledgeable doctor and so polite and friendly. You don't feel like she is rushed and she explains everything in such great detail. I have found a new amazing doctor!
Reception staff disorganized. Waited for over 30 minutes to see the GP. Consult not very thorough
So much for 24/7. Tried to call and WhatsApp on Saturday to make an urgent appointment but nobody answered or got back to me.
Dr Ebrahim firstly has a very welcoming nature, she is warm. She will repeatedly ask if you are at ease with her medical advice and if there's anything else of concern to you. Dr Ebrahim doesn't make one feel rushed out of her rooms - she doesn't give "I have another patient waiting" vibe. She is kind and respectful.
The reception is unorganised. They lose scripts and do not give you the invoice when collecting them so you randomly get an email saying you owe money to the practice months later. They do not answer their phones. I haven't received my blood test results for 2 weeks now and they haven't contacted me about that either. They are a very disorganised practice that doesn't seem to take anything seriously.
The doctor I saw was great. I have no complaints other then their WhatsApp line is very bad, they read and leave you until you ask a second time, give a vague answer and when you ask a follow up you are once again read and left. I find this very frustrating because I can't always afford airtime to phone reception whenever I want to ask something.
This practice has zero respect for patients. This is the second time that I booked an appointment to see a doctor and the second time that my appointment didn't start on time. The first time I was made to wait 90 minutes past my appointment time and today I was expected to wait a minimum of 45 minutes which I am quite sure would have been longer had I bothered to stick around. The slap in the face though is that on both these occassions does anyone bother to communicate the delay to you. You have to go to reception and ask them what is going on and then they just look at each other hoping one would answer me. Informing clients of delays is normal practice and actually the courteous thing to do. In fact, any other practice who was running THAT late would have the assistants call the patients to advise them so that they can decide whether they want to wait or reschedule. No consideration to is given to the fact that you as the client may have other commirments and cannot sit around waiting for your appointment for an hour. Sends a loud and clear message that this practice thinks the clients time is unimportant.
Appalling experience waiting one hour with no explanations offered. In fact the staff were enjoying a festive atmosphere laughing and chatting away. I walked out with no apology offered.
