It was a lovely experience. Challenging indeed but very enjoyable. Chilling by the shade after the hike was the best moment ever . Thanks to House Of Destiny Family Church and to the YAY Young Adults and Youth Committee for such a beautiful opportunity. Our hike was lite
As much as I love this hiking trail ,it is very deserted lately, the wheat has grown taller than I 1.5m and were pricking us while hiking which made it uncomfortable, but overall this trail is really good. Fees: The fees should definitely decrease, because the trail is not maintained
Beautiful hike...cash payment.....very friendly guy at entrance ....not often you get someone who shows respect and dedication for what he does....Louis I think his name was...got lost from the first look out point....otherwise reasonably marked...well worth it....
Great trail with some tougher areas, but overall not too challenging. The views are absolutely stunning, and really worth the walk. We enjoyed the burgers at the restaurant afterwards - some of the best burgers I have had. Will definitely be back. Was a great experience, even for someone who is not very fit!
Love love love this route. Definitely recommend it. Distance 7.7km. Alot more climbing up and down than expected. Not for a total beginner hiker. But it gives the perfect being in the bush feeling. Beautiful scenery and look out points. Cash R80 per adult at gate. Dogs allowed-YAY!
We had such a great time at Phaladingwe Hiking Trail. We got to see some stunning views and the trail was moderate with some ups and downs and very well marked. The owner warmly welcomed us and briefed us about the historical and cultural significance of the place. We will definitely be back again. What made the hike special for us was we had a little furry friend Mia a sweet little Jack Russel who guided us through the trail and made sure we got back to the parking safely.
I absolutely enjoyed hiking this trail! What a treat of nature...a balance between the bush, the crocodile river...beach sand which was amazing.. ! The litter on the riverbank is a bit overwhelming! Stunning rock formations makes up for a great view and a challenging hilly climb for the last 2.5kms home stretch or so of the trail! 4 unleashed happy fur babies with owners of course added some flavor to the hike as they sprinted forward ...personally not sure what the rules are with dogs. I was so looking foward to a hot Cappacino at the end of the trail just to be told "no filter" coffee is sold but I plan to go back! R80 cash only at the gate and absolutely worth every penny! Not the greatest pictures taken but an absolutely great hike!
The Hiking trail is a 7.4km long and Moderate intensity Only trail offering spectacular views. Entrance fee is R80 - at the gate you can pay with cash preferable or you can ask to swipe/tap inside. The staff is very friendly and guide you to the starting point. The trail is clearly marked with plenty of view points. The trail could make use of some grass trimming, the grass was very long when we went there last weekend. I’d advise anyone going to take a hat and some sun screen as majority of the trail is in an open field. There’s plenty of parking, a restaurant and clean restrooms. Will be back very soon!
The scenery is amazing I would do it all over again it's so refreshing and the trail is very moderate.
Fantastic hike! Challenging at parts. Great views! Thanks to Juan and Margaret for being superb hosts! Delicious food and great company!
