Our stay didn’t start off well. There was a complete mess up with our rooms by the management team. We booked a Superior room and we were given a standard room after driving 8 hours. Management was rude and refused to give us a solution to assist. The worst was hearing other guests get upgraded while we were downgraded. As a result, I can’t give a good rating as they didn’t try to rectify their mistake. To avoid more complications we simply accepted the standard room. We will not return. For an easy stay it’s okay but I wouldn’t recommend this if you are looking for good service.
I was booked in the hotel room 309 from 30th September till 03 October 2021, I had a terrible experience of my life. There was a noise of people form other hotel rooms. They talked loudly, sang loudly. as for the smell of cigarette that was coming through the toilet, was the worst nightmare ever.
I was booked for work purposes, stayed 7 days at Kopanong Conference Hotel at Benoni. Room was partially clean and at one time no hot water. Very inconsistent serving of food, conferencing is a nightmare. Actually you have make follow through and always ask for water, ask for toilet facilities to be cleaned - same tissue piece you saw laying on the floor the previous day you will find it there following day. I don't even want to mention COVID safety precautions - never had my conference desk sanitized in between or before luckily I had brought my surface cleaner. However, I blame all these inconsistence to the absence of leadership and management of the facility. You must support and monitor your workers. I think you have demotivated management Head Office must do something who have no passion to create guest pleasant experience. Its 'us' and 'them'. I'm truly disappointed - I trusted the capacity of aha group.
I would like to express my disappointment with the way my booking was handled. My booking was done through central reservation and to my surprise when I got at Lesedi, the hotel was not aware of my reservation. I was asked to provide the reference number and I was told the lodge do not have such reference number, as the a last option I had to provide the a proof of payment. Eventual a room was given to us and again to my amazement the room had twin bed not a double bed room, I had to go back to the reception. I was told no double bed room and I was asked to move to another lodge opposite Lesedi which is called the Venue. As results I had wake up in the morning and eat breakfast at Lesedi while I sleep at the venue hotel. This was going to be my first time sleeping in one of your lodges and hotels and I must say my experience was not that good, very disappointing. The service received was unprofessional and not acceptable.
Second aha hotel I’ve stayed at and completely unimpressed. Urban Park Umhlanga: In serious need of basic maintenance. Fitness Centre is borderline dangerous with two out of the three treadmills broken and the one supposedly working one has a serious problem with the belt...if you want to fall on your face this is the place to do it! Spinning bike also broken and some of the circuit machines have missing pieces. Be aware if you book an economy room they are dark and dingy. Shuttle service also out of order. 500mb of WiFi per person per day. Given that most hotels now offer unlimited WiFi, this is far below standard. Received a room upgrade after complaining but cannot say we would return. Fire alarm wiring was all pulled out on our floor, elevator floors on the digital display are barely legible and the lift itself makes some concerning noises... All in all dissatisfied, disappointing and not at all as advertised.
Wonderful Stay at Aha Avondale Boutique Hotel. Thank you Sharon Da Silva Hotel Manager for the warm welcome and the wonderful stay. She accommodated my wife and I as we were meant to stay at Aha Riverside due to an issue with my online booking through a third party site - by the time the issue was resolved Aha Riverside was fully booked. I will be staying at Aha Umhlanga in December - Aha Umhlanga, Sharon has set benchmark! Thanks Sharon to you and your team. Yunus and Shenaaz Docrat
Travel agents and tour operators do not deal with the AHA GROUP. They robbed a company from their group reservation. Please be careful, they are a bunch of crooks!
Terrible company. They will look at anything to rob you off your bookings. Unethical in business dealings. Be careful when making any group bookings.
A company you want to keep an eye out for. Definitely going to grow into the hospitality sector faster than one would think... Great company and great people...
The stay and professionalism is absolutely lovely. I enjoyed my stay. I hope to come back at a later stage
