The service here is pathetic. The staff make excuses about change of ownership of the venue. They send you SMS’s about WIFI and when you get here there isn’t any WIFI, guess what an excuse accompanied that. They advertise that they’ll be a braai area and that too wasn’t available. The lady working here is really good at making excuses. The room wasn't prepared for us, the lady had to run around looking for basic things which were supposed to be in the room after housekeeping did their job, i.e. like toiletries. She went to an extend of threatening to give housekeeping a warming whereas she said she personally prepared the room for us herself, THE TV WASN'T EVEN WORKING! Don’t come anywhere near this place!
Waffles were rather dry. Had to ask for honey / syrup / sauce which confused waiter who considered it a very strange request. Serene setting, friendly staff, but not sure I would rush back for food
Great place with good food in great location by lake. Staff only too glad to help. Only snag is that airport taxis appear to have problems finding it! Welcome own/rental cars.
We did not settled our bar tab as reception was closed when we left, we requested a copy of the bill and agreed to settle it once we had received it. Below is the email sent trying to assist in improving their service. Karen mentioned that the Flamingos Nest is a new acquisition and as such, we would like to offer some constructive criticism to assist in improving your service to your guests. 1. The potatoes  were undercooked and although there was issues with power, food should never be served if it is not cooked properly. 2. The bathroom in our unit only had less than half a roll of toilet paper, we had to take from the communal ablution facility. 3. There were 4 small milk pots which was insufficient for a cup of coffee on arrival and departure. Maybe consider at least supplying a 500ml. 4.The coffee supplied was substandard, at the very least, Nescafe should be supplied. Ricoffy should be an additional option. Filter coffee in the bedroom is pointless if there is no plunger. 5. The fridge was not switched on for our arrival. 6.No bottled or fridge water supplied in bedroom. 7. No fan/aircon in the room. 8. Cracked sink which definitely should be replaced. 9. Shower door didn't close. 10. The barman had no tot measure and no ice scoop and had to use his bare hands. Fridges in bar were not working. 11. No information/guide book and reception contact details available in unit to report problems/concerns. 12. A permanent and fully functional generator in any hospitality industry is an absolute necessity. A rate of R1000 for the night is excessive when there is such a lack of basic/functioning amenities. Their response 7 days later!!! We are in receipt of your email. We apologise for the inconveniences caused during your stay. The power is a National problem and we are in the process of putting all measures in place so we do not have such an occurrence in the future.  Our team at the lodge did everything possible to ensure that our guests were okay during this power cuts. As a means of good gesture, we have not charged you for the bar bill. I do hope you accept and wish to see you in the near future. The irony!!!! Flamingos Nest charged my friend for the bar tab which I reimbursed accordingly, I informed Flamingos Nest accordingly which to date, I have had no response. Service goes a long way and unfortunately I can honestly say that there was no service offered at this new establishment
Service is Horrific. booked this place to have an event, Roxanne ensured that the place will be ready to use and that their construction would not interfere with my party. the Sunday before the event i find out Roxanne has now left and that Agnus will take over, Agnus tell me they will have the place ready and that they will give me a back up conference room at the same price if there are any issues. 4 days before the event they call me and tell me they cant host me and that i now need to find an alternate venue. They wont allow me to speak to the owner or give me his contact details. They are horrible with customer service and i would not recommend using them at all as they cannot be trusted.
I was there today and the reception was so terrible . The food was so bad and so was the service. We were supposed to have a buffet but instead got watery tasteless chicken a la kin I dont know how it can have a four star rating .Rooms: 1/5
Flamingos Nest Guest House and Conference Centre is a true gem! A beautifully located guest house positioned on the Benoni sand pan, it is without a doubt, the only guest house in Benoni with such an amazing view and serene atmosphere. The beautiful surroundings make the place incredibly unique. I would highly recommend Flamingos Nest to anyone wanting a decent break from the ordinary. The owner of the establishment, Melissa, is incredibly friendly and is the most accommodating and down to earth host. The establishment is managed immaculately and all of the staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant is my fav pirate part of the experience at Flamingos Nest. The food is amazing and the service is second to none. I would highly recommend the “runners breakfast” for a great start to your day. The rooms are in perfect condition and are very well maintained. The cleaning staff are very much considerate of ones privacy and take a lot of care to ensure that the servicing of the rooms is as non invasive as possible. Melissa truly has a very well trained team of hospitality professionals working at the establishment. The communal areas like the lawns, the pool, the pond, the bar, conference room, boma and lounge area are all also very well maintained. The gardens are always very kept. I can’t overemphasize enough how much of an amazing experience it is staying at Flamingos Nest guest house. Truly a pleasure.
Place looks nice but no hand soap in any of the rooms only 4 channels on tv after 6 no staff on site
The new Mozambik restaurant is stunning. Good service, lovely view, fantastic food and an adventure for the children!
Bedrooms are very neat and comfortable. Lovely view over the lake. Had a delicious breakfast.
