I am a physiotherapist currently practicing at the Sharks Medical centre. My focus is on sports injuries, orthopaedics and musculoskeletal conditions.

Description

I qualified in 2013 from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Westville campus) with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy honours degree. I completed my year of community service at Pietermaritzburg Assessment and Therapy centre in 2014.

I am now practicing as a physiotherapist for Deane Macquet physiotherapy at the Sharks Medical Centre. I am open to the public and focus on sports injuries, post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation and musculoskeletal disorders. I place a strong emphasis on hands-on physiotherapy and physical rehabilitation.

I have a passion for people, the outdoors, medicine and sport and I love the fact that my career incorporates all four. I have a special interest in running and cycling injuries.

Thereafter she worked at the Sharks Medical Centre with Callie Hugo Physiotherapy for three and a half years.In April 2018 Amanda Hawke opened her own practice at Westville Boys High School. In 2021 she moved her practice to Northwood Boys High School and offers treatment for pupils, staff, parents as well as private patients at the rehab facility.Amanda has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy and has an interest in a wide variety of sports, orthopaedic and neuromusculoskeletal injuries."
