A step into the world of the arts. Completely thrilled with the current production of Aladdin being performed.. Lighting and backgrounds are superb. Actors have you cheering on the hero and heroine and delighting in hating the villain. The building itself is old on the outside giving a sense of presence and old time wonder while inside is clean, plush and smells like magic. Worth a visit especially if a performance is being held.
The best experience ever. On the 3rd December 2022, Lake Farm Centre Residents and Friends went to watch the Aladdin Pantomime - what an enjoyable time was had by all. Everyone from PEMADS goes out of their way, they are friendly, accommodating, and incredibly talented.
Another great performance by Pemads. This year I treated my eldest granddaughter and she had wonderful time. Thank you to all the Aladdin cast and crew 2022
Went to see the production of Aladdin. What a wonderful evening. Great production, lots of laughs singing and dancing. The theater is great, clean and spacious
The look and feel of the place is excellent. As you enter the premises you're immediately offered great art and entertainment from the designs and sculptures in and around the building. I'm yet to see a show that doesn't live up to that standard. I love how they've modernised the building yet have kept those cute gates and wooden floors for that vintage look and feel. One thing I've never been impressed about there is the staff hey? Nah man something needs to be done.
Love the venue! Got some interesting exhibits on display at times. From artists to photographers, it always has something pleasing to the eye. As well as hosting some great events and hosted very well. The theater is amazing with its colour scheme. My only issue was coming during the day, had no one around to help us out or tell us what was going on. Walked in, got confused and eventually found our own way.
Beautiful place/venue for arts and crafts events. It celebrates the art of women from the local communities. Beautiful statue of Nelson Mandela in front. Ideal for visits from tourists.
Really enjoying being on the performing end. A lovely old theatre with plenty of charm.
The Athenaeum. Its a lovely building to host events, from theater shows to formal events. This venue is full of culture, history and South African heritage. Iam proud to say that ive attended many events at this venue, the standard and maintains of the place is remarkable. There is also a little in-house cafe, it has warm and friendly staff. Which would be wonderful to have to running full-time. If only it got more support for the businesses arround there. This might change soon. But its a wonderful venue that proudly holds up SA heritage and celebrates it's culture.
Laughed ourselves silly: My boetie se sussie se ou. Enjoyed the show. Was a surprise when Tobie Cronje showed up on stage.
