The worst service I have ever received, so incompetent and pathetic, they don’t know how to be useful and helpful. At least about 5 people in the same queue where frustrated.
I will never forget the bad experience I have with that company. It was my first and definitely my last time to deal with them. They told me about scratches on the car but with no evidence, they took my whole deposit and also deducted another R1338 from my account. I wasnt even told that the airconditioner is not working, and it was so hot.They are crooks, I made a follow up complaining, they promised to give me back my money within 48 hours but till today they never did that. I called again several times after that and I was told the same story 'to wait for 48 hours'. I think this is their way of making money from their clients. I will never recommend them to anyone.
Do NOT use their service. They made up that there was a scratch UNDERNEATH the car and charged R10,300 plus the R3,600 security deposit with ZERO evidence or documentation despite FULL INSURANCE COVERAGE. They didn't even send a proper invoice for the charges. I know people with similar experiences regarding rental cars in East London. Unfortunately, even Avis, an international company, is full of crooks at this location.
Most cars are available for rental...Rental charges for SUVs is not that bad. And their SUVs are still fresh and powerfull. They never disappoint.
I will never forget the service I got from Khulula. I normally use their competitor, but Khulula sold Avis East London positively; I got a great service, which gave me a reason to book with Avis everytime I have to be in EL.
The service received was AMAZING the guys/girls were super patient and sweet HOWEVER Avis cars have now become a joke. Before I didn’t mind booking Avis even though they were a little bit more expensive than the other brands because you always knew their cars were in good condition and a great selection of cars. I booked and paid prior so that I could receive a Corolla Sedan upon arrival I was given a Car that resembles a Avanza literally I saw that the other car hires had better cars however I had already booked and paid with Avis. Since Covid they are now buying poor quality cars in order to save money and it shows. Obviously Avis won’t respond nor change because of my complaint however this is for you the consumer. Go with one of the other brands as they have better options for cars. Avis standards have dropped SIGNIFICANTLY
I am so disappointed with what Avis EL Airport has done to my elderly mother, its been close to 3 months and she still hasn't received her deposit. Funny enough after several times of calling in and asking for feedback, a lady called Wendy stated that the refund will be paid in 48 hours,. My mother called in again this morning and now they have no record of my mother renting a vehicle from them. My aim for writing this review is to alert the public of what it currently happening at that branch. My mom has eventually given up on her deposited and a lady named Wendy assured her that the money will be paid back within 48hours, then after a week she called in again and Abrahams also told her the same thing. Can someone @AVIS assist so this ugly behavior is stopped before damaging the brands reputation further
Quick to take deposit. Slow to pay it back
those guys have no time for you, its about money and if you forgot your item in onenof their cars it dissappear like a flash and they don't even say " ok sir we will check in our lost and found items " you just got dismissed or shown a big board with the disclaimer that they are not liable. Life is quick, sometimes you come to this places in a rush, rush to get home, rush for a plane and probably forget other stuff and the last thing you expect is for your goods to dissappear without trace.
