The inspiration for the Bijou Exquisite Jewellery Collection came from many travel destinations around the world.
Gillian Roffe owner/ managing director of XL Bay Travel , in Port Elizabeth, together with the Goldsmith and Jewellery designer Marnic Tait, found the inspiration for the Bijou Exquisite Collection from the Indian Ocean Islands.
The beautiful island of Mauritius was the inspiration for the Frangipani Collection. The azure seas, white sand, many hammocks and the aroma of the Frangipani flower will bring back many pleasant memories for anyone who had been to Mauritius. The signature piece of the collection is the Frangipani pendant that is sure to delight its owner.
A fairly new destination in the Indian Ocean Islands, Zanzibar, is known as the “Spice Island”. The many Dhow Fishermen’s boats and the aromatic spices on the island instilled the inspiration for the Spice and Dhow Collection. The ever popular Tanzanite gemstone found at the foothills of Mount Kilomanjaro was the inspiration for the Dhow Collection. The beautiful Tanzanite is the only gemstone used in the Dhow Collection.
