I had a great experience today. The lady who assisted me was so helpful and I tried on so many shoes. She fitted the shoes and tried on a number bigger or a number smaller until I fitted the most comfortable shoe and she made sure that I was happy with my choice. Thank you so much for fitting my shoes with a new pair of stocking and throwing it in the bin after my fitting and thank you for sterilizing the counter when I went to pay for my shoes. I do appreciate your great service. Zikhona, you are doing an amazing job young lady!
Product quality has decreased massively in the last year, staff are rude and extremely unhelpful. A pair of supposedly leather school shoes were literally falling apart after 6 months of normal use and the staff refused to exchange them. Green Cross used to have good quality products but not anymore, I would advise everyone against shopping there.
Three pairs of shoes broke in the exact same way after 1-2 weeks wear. I wore a similar style for nearly 10 years with no problem. This new Green Cross is clearly rubbish.
Absolutely shocking service. Cashier was busy on private phone call and made me wait until she completed. My son bought his Dad a rather expensive pair of shoes in Jhb as a GIFT. My husband has had a stroke and the shoes were not suitable. I politely asked if we could just change for another pair of shoes..she did not even wait for me to complete my explanation and was quite rude..saying no slip, no exchange. The shoes are still in the packaging in box....will never support your stores again and neither will anyone I know.
The manger refused to exchange a month old shoe that caused massive blisters on pinke toes of my daughter. She sprayed with stretching spray but after two days my daughters toes were not any better. I took pics and will be contacting there head office. This is not what i expected from green cross shoes or the company itself. I dont expect the money back but at least an exchange would be welcomed and professional.
Dreadful customer service and shoes that fail, with employees unable to take responsibility for defects. Ironically, they sell the best school uniform shoes we have found in the region. However, our experience with the shoes and lack of resolution with the obvious and documented defect has been overwhelmingly frustrating. If we had any other choice we would go elsewhere, and will now try to start bringing in our children's school shoes from Europe or the U.S., ourselves. We bought 3 pair at the same time, and now have had to buy a 4th. Our daughters both wear a cute "t-strap" style that has a bit of elastic that attaches the buckle to the shoe. Our youngest, age 7, had that elastic break on her shoe, rendering them useless, after exactly 11 wks of use, wearing 4 days a week, 8am-1. Shoes were in near perfect condition still, and looked as if she could be in them another year. I took them in, very politely and graciously pointing out the problem. The clerk easily remembered us buying them, in fact. Foreigners, 3 kids, mid-school year Over and over she insisted they've never had problems with their school shoes and it must be our fault. She tried to say that my daughter probably tried to put the shoe on without unbuckling. impossible with that style and I actually watch her put her shoes on every morning as we are headed out the door. Then, she said maybe she was pulling on it. Seriously? She's a tiny little girl and the shoes I've just brought back are in perfect condition except for the failing buckle attachment, without a hint of wear and tear other than a tiny scuff on the toe. I'm not even looking for a bigger size. Just replace OR repair... please. After very clearly indicating that she doesn't agree, she finally replaces them, giving me the "benefit of the doubt" with an attitude that I am getting something I shouldn't?! What? Not a hint of an apology, and I just drove a full 2 hours, round-trip simply to replace a defective and very necessary school shoe. Ok, I decide to let it go at that... until my other daughter's shoe breaks in EXACTLY the same way. After precisely 20 weeks of very moderate use, we are out another pair of school shoes that are in near perfect condition otherwise. Broken elastic at the buckle. I know from my treatment at the store the first time, that I'm not even going to try or expect to get them replaced. I take a photo of them, send my daughter to school with a paperclip pushed through the elastic and wrapped around to attach the buckle strap, and head off for another 2 hour trip to get new ones. Before I go, my daughter insists they are the perfect size and she wants the same exact shoe. She loves them. With my husband along, the clerk again immediately remembers us. Again, she says they NEVER have problems with their school shoes. I show the other clerk the picture and explain about the elastic breaking on another pair, bought the same day, and suggest that maybe there was a bad batch of elastic used at the manufacturers during that time period, if their shoes are not normally defective. and I clearly have two pair that are That doesn't go anywhere, as expected, but I'm giving them opportunity to make it right. They try to talk my husband into another style that doesn't have a buckle. Why? Are the buckle attachments defective now?? Other style not near as cute, and my daughter wanted the same shoe back. My daughters are very gentle on their dress shoes and sit to take them on and off properly. They take pride in their whole outfit, and the shoes aren't an exception. I don't push it... I'm expecting nothing more. So off we go, having spent another R450 on the same size, same exact shoe, but with a buckle that's attached, for now. I'm not sure if such a lack of customer service and inability to guarantee a product is a cultural thing, but I can't imagine having this kind of problem in the countries we usually shop in. Conversely, and very commonly, there would be a sincere apology, an unquestioning, immediate replacement with a smile, and a discount towards a future purchase. Sad.
Bought a pair of shoes which cost approximately R1500 in September last year which i hardly wore as they were closed shoes for winter. The suede on the left shoe formed a small hole and when I took it back to the shop i was told that it was due to "wear and tear". No offer to send it back for repairs for which i would have paid was made. Will never purchase Green Cross shoes again.
Awesome staff very helpfull
The manager/owner needs some customer relations training. She was so bombastic and unfriendly that it has put me off ever returning.
Had to return shoes twice in 5 months due to sole separating from upper. Not again.
