Nice, restful place we stopped by to have brunch on our way from George to Cape town. The food was tasty and the portions were quite sufficient. Prices were reasonable too. They have a store full of local goodies, bakes, various jams and sauces. There is a play area for kids and parking was available at the location.
What a pleasant lunch time pit stop at this farm stall restaurant. Large portions and very tasty, then lots of goodies to take on your journey with you. Enjoyed it very much.
Nice place to visit. Good food and friendly personnel. If it was not for the loud radio I would have given it a 4 +.
Warm friendly service. The aroma of freshly baked bread greeted us as we walked in. As its winter and cold the fire was going and made it all more warm and cozy. Nice display of all their preserves, freshly baked goods - on the premises- pies, tarts, toffee apples. The new kids area are safe and in direct view of parents so kids can get rid off build up energy. Worth while stop on the Garden Route.
What an awesome farmstall, such a wide variety of home baked goods and a menu that ticks all the boxes. A "must do" stop if you're going on the N2.
The Blue Crane – Heidelberg is more than just a farm stall. It offers a wide selection of preserves, cakes, organic eggs, biscuits, etc for purchase. On top of that they often a food section which offers everything from braai toasted sandwiches, burgers, homemade pies etc. You can either take away or eat on benches under a tree. I must admit I am getting tired of the chain food being offered and most filling stations with poor services. This was quick, delicious and a far better experiences. I have decided now to start avoiding chain food from filling stations and try out these farm stalls. This one as exceptional and I hope all the other also prove to be so. It is kid friendly and wheel chair friendly for the disabled.
We arrived at around 10h30, they did not have a lot of the items on the menu available. The scones were dry and crumbly and not very appetising although the apple pie was good. The salt and pepper shakers on the table need to be cleaned. Overall did not have a good visit.
Lovely place. Friendly staff. I did not have a meal as it was a quick stop. They were busy preparing fresh roosterbrood. It looked lovely. However, the coffee was sorry. I would stop there again though.Food: 4/5
Excellent road stall, great food, lovely atmosphere.Food: 4/5
Lovely padstal. Very helpful staff and an interesting selection of local preserves and other foodstuffs. I like that everything there is local. Their bacon and cheese quiches are divine!
