Bona Bona Game Lodge

The service here is great, professional and they have a range of interesting packages. They could however, improve on the time they take to respond to emails. It's great for family outings, or rest between business trips/meetings. I haven't stayed overnight, but I can tell from the public bathrooms that they take hygiene seriously. Safety: The security here is tight, no doubt. Food & drinks: Their food is quite enjoyable .

Such a lovely place with gorgeous views. They catered to us so well and made us feel welcome. Great staff, great service and AMAZING food!! Would definitely visit again!

Didn't stay over but the 3 days spending there for the family reunion was awesome. Stunning people, great service. Knowledgeable game rangers and glorious food.Service: 5/5

To be Honest. This is not a 4 star Lodge. I stayed at places that had no stars that had better services and accommodation. The reception ladies is really bad in communication making wrong bookings. Our room we were booked in smelled like sewerage we asked to be looked at they did not even ask us if it was better we had to go back the next day and complain again and then we needed to move to another unit. No body helps you with luggage to carry even its far from the parking area. The best service we got was from the restaurant manager he was really awesome. The food is good just not value for money with portions. The lodge is also not telling people that the predators is in cages if i wanted to pay additional R220 is ridiculous same with the game drive R200 for a game drive per person is also over priced! We had really a good relaxing time. Its not very relaxing if the local native people of South Aftica is there and are very rude and loud you cant enjoy nature. Also inside the your room you can hear other people in the room next to you snoring and talking and phones ringing not good for a good night rest. The pool area dont have enough shade cover and lounges so only one family can be at the pool at a time.

We have booked for a group of 17 people at Bona Bona for October. It is a group of international guests that we would like to give a bit of an African Bush experience in 1 day. We really thought that Bona Bona is a nice option, but quite frankly it is a real struggle to get to speak to someone who is willing to help, to offer advise, and to help us to make the short stay memorable. Its been two weeks and I still cannot book a brunch after a game drive, they are very unwilling to tailor make a package for a group - even for good money. I am gobsmacked! And quite frankly worried

Went to the Jakkals restaurant for Sunday lunch food was absolutely superb service could do with a pickup they need relief staff when someone is on lunch or not available they must also come around and ask if the table needs more drinks etc. Otherwise who ever your chef is respect, you really know what you are doing.Service: 3/5

My stay was very excellent. The waiter Tshepo very amazing human being. The chef also was a star, his name is Thabo. The lady that cleans the room also did a superb job. The views of this place. The atmosphere. The peace from just being there. Its a blessing being here. I will come again with my family and friends. The food is on point. The reception area is very welcoming. The security guard is also willing to help with directions and bags

Lovely place to go and show family or friends from out of town. This Monday went for sundowners and was disappointed. No gin and vodka for cocktails and no ice cream for milkshakes on don Pedro. Saw a nice cocktail come out with a bottle of savanna in it and thought that would be great for the ladies but was told there was no more glasses to make that cocktail. Really only 3 glasses for such a big place. Wollies is close by for someone to go over and get what is needed. Even if you pay a bit more but keep the customer happy.

Unfortunately it seems to be a common theme when there are larger groups. Similar to a different review, we booked 12 people with international guests and wanted to offer them a good experience in Africa. Unfortunately the willingness to provide resourceful options were very limited and the staff seem to be somewhat complacent. Potentially, the lack of proper competition in the area could be the reason. In my experience, the hospitality industry is usually very accommodating and helpful with requests but sadly we will not be going back to this institution for business events.

Service really was the most disappointing part of the weekend. Booking was seamless but the reception staff was very confused upon arrival and the service never got better. Staff are friendly but the waiters have no idea how to take care of customers. Multiple tables without food/drinks at all times. You have to be veeeery patient when visiting the restaurant and have to go get your own menus and drinks from the bar if you want something done. Food was awesome especially the pizza. Multiple cocktail ingredients were out of stock so sadly the menu was very limited. Rooms are clean and the facilities are great especially the bath in the executive room.
