Who are we as a department?

The City currently has 101 libraries, two satellite libraries and a mobile library service.

These service points not only lend books to residents but also provide them with access to electronic resources, magazines and journals, programmes in information-retrieval skills, lifelong learning and storytelling.

Libraries are cool. You can even recycle your toothbrushes at this library.  very helpful staff too.

Library is ok but actually went to skate Park next door

May 2021.....Fabulous library in Bridgetown. Only new to town but staff very friendly and happy to spend time showing us around and even before we left Renee spent time telling us all about Bridgetown where to go and what to do, see etc. Called in again today and came home with another 7 books. Great selection to choose from  its now 7 months Nov I have been using the library and my views havent changed. Always plenty of books to choose from but staff/volunteers are always happy to search and order more. Still 5 star reading. If I have any negative comment it would be that older kids who use the library after school should be taught to respect the rules, staff, the other people using the library, the furniture, books and each other. When I and another lady commented to staff member who was doing nothing about appalling  behaviour she said " we dont want to say anything which might stop them coming back as adults" .....our response " well the way they are behaving who wants them to come back - and would the staff prefer we didnt come back because it wasnt a nice atmosphere to read in...but I have..regularly   Now 2022 and I have a few dozen or 50 books under my belt now. Many thanks to Renee and Nell for their continued enthusiasm and support in finding me something good to read. Nothing is too much trouble for these ladies, especially Renee who seems to run on jet fuel at 100 miles an hour. To the library management you need  more staff. One person can not run this busy library alone. There always seems to be a stream of new people to town to be shown around, kids and adults on computers needing help, me looking for books etc etc its a 2 person job!!!!  a big bunch of roses to exceptional staff. Thankyou ladies...

Beautiful library, good internet, friendly staff. Ideal spot if you need to go online while visiting Bridgetown.
