Claremont Library

I went on the 7th to open my daughter a library card the elderly lady that assisted me gave me such horrible service she wasn't friendly at all, she didn't explain to me or my daughter how to use the card or how many books to take out absolutely nothing. The lady in the kids section was amazing she explained in detail to me about the books I was looking for an gave me good service. As I was browsing another lady came up to me an told me my 30min of browsing is up I need to get done. Never in my life of attending a library has someone told me this.

Library is usually quiet enough for studying if you find a good spot. Also has a great kids section. There's a bad bathroom/toilet smell when you walk through the front doors though. The toilets need more maintaining and cleaning. I hold my breath each time I walk into the library.

Such an amazing place to go if you need some solitude or just a quiet place to work or read a book. There is no WiFi but there are a few terminals you can register on and then use the Internet for up to 45 min per day. Finally they have filtered water but you need to bring your own cup if you need water during your stay.

I’m a big fan on our lovely library but super annoyed that it’s closed at 11.40 instead of 12 today Saturday. We rushed here to drop our books.

Quiet as libraries tend to be. Actually peaceful and a good space to be in. Come on, I know you want to spend time there. Move along now. However, parking could be a problem. If you don't mind paying for your parking, this is available at the hall opposite the library. As well as immediately surrounding the building. Otherwise, visit in the evening certain not guys only and sufficient parking should be available.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Needed a little time to browse though 30 minutes is not enough. So during these Covid times I would advice that you go prepared perhaps even call ahead to make sure the books you want they have. Thank you

Called for assistance to find out what time the library closes. Received a very rude response of “well it’s Friday isn’t it? So 5pm bye” and she hung up. Not impressed.

Huge, newly built modern library. Well worth a visit if libraries are your thing.
