Central Library, Cape Town

I opened my library card today and is was a very pleasant experience, the librarian was very friendly very helpful. He even went above and beyond the call of duty to inform me on something he didnt have to. Very professional.

If it's ever cols and raining and you would like to visit the library, don't... they'll tell you to take it off, but they don't have any heaters to keep you warm

An impressive amount and variety of recources, passionate staff and a serene atmosphere are some of the elements that compose this comfortable oasis, situated in the bustling heart of the city.

In a very sad state. Pictures torn and cut out of books, no proper reading room, study area is noisy, bad lighting, dull and uninspiring interiors, generic office carpets throughout.... I expected more from the city's main library.

It was good. A bit noisy but it was clean and tidy.

I love the Central Library. Filled with a large variety of books and online resources. The staff is great, but not necessarily all of them. The operating hours are very much accommodating. If you aren't originally Capetonian, it isn't an easy process getting a patrons card. Although getting the card does guarantee you great access to all resources from all CoCT libraries.

Always clean. Staff always helpful and polite. Nice quiet place to read.

The library is great for studying, it's a serene environment and the service is excellent as well

Such a fantastic resource. One could spend the whole day reading, or take out a book and read at the comfort of your home. In all cases, you can find a wide range of books, from fiction to self help, to stems and the arts. I would highly recommend anyone to check out the library and it's warm friendly staff.

This is so much more than just a library, it is a work of art! I love this place so much!
