Britannia Hotel

The food served at the Capsicum is excellent. The chops chutney was special, the quality of the meat and quality of the chutney was the best I ever ate. Service by the staff was 5 Star quality. They were very attentive and made sure that the customers were satisfied with food and beverages. My friends and myself will certainly be returning to the Britannia hotel for a meal again. Well done to management and staff.

Can't comment on the rooms, we only stopped for the famous bunny chow. We ordered mutton and asked if it was the one with no bones and told yes... when we got back to our accommodation we were disappointed to find it's not what we asked for. Overall the food was OK but would have been 5 star if it was correct. There should also be better signage on where to park, it's so easy to miss and it's a mission to make it round to try again.

The food at Britannia is a solid 10/10. They do not compromise on taste as their food is always delicious. Service is great and the waiters are knowledgeable. Would recommend the saucy livers and seafood platter for 2. Safety: It is safer to park by the front entrance as compared to the back entrance as the front is usually busy with customers.

Visited the Capsicum restaurant on 28 Jan 2023. The food was excellent however we waited almost 40 mins for ONE Cornish bunny. We also ordered a takeaway which took just as long to come. Unfortunately the service levels let the restaurant down and that's the reason for the low rating otherwise it would have been a 10 out of 5.....Service: 1/5

The food is always very good. On Fridays, order in advance or make reservations in advance. I highly recommend the Cornish curry or mutton curry. The toilets are clean. The staff are very friendly.

Food is very good, but the overall experience will ensure I don't back there again. I waited almost 1 hour for 2 mutton bunnies and 6 samosas for takeaway on Friday, 18 Nov'22. I went before the lunch rush, and it wasn't like the curry wasn't ready because people were being served in the restaurant. The gent who served me said it would take 15-20 mins, which I still thought was a long wait, but to wait a few mins short of 1 hour is ridiculous!!!! Hollywood just scored themselves another customer......

Probably had the best beans bunny chow ever here. . Loved it. Thats bunny takes me to my happy place . Gravy is perfect. Potatoes are soft... excellent every time

We expected much more from Brittania. From Pretoria, we've been coming here for years and this was one of the most basic, unappealing, unappetizing meals we've had. Ordered the mutton kebab basic tasteless, tomato gravy and meatballs, trotters had too much of some spice, butter chicken so bland and mutton curry the better of the 4 dishes. Also ordered a mutton kebab bunny tasteless but burning hot so you couldn't taste the actual food. The original owners can be beaten. I won't be coming here again and will not recommend it to anyone!

Food is good but service is really really bad. Waited over 1.5 hours and then was told that they didn’t have bread for bunnies and they burnt the seafood.

Hello Normally Britannia bunny very high up there. Most of the time very consistent but today wasn't very good. Bread felt so Old. Curry was very cold. Waited long for the food to come. Curry is very dark lacked heat and flavor. Tasted almost like a boiled stew .Service: 2/5
