Extraordinary camp spot with the most spectacular views and wild life - one of our trip highlights. Already recommended this place to friends and family. Facilities were all in working condition and blends in with the surroundings. Sites are big and private, being far apart with bushes in between just how we like it. The main road is close to the campsites, but it's not a busy road did not hear any cars in the evening - perhaps add gates at entrance for safety. Bonus that it is pet friendly with permission in advance! Perhaps with our next visit, the owner / manager can be a little more hospitable. Other than that, this is worth 5 stars a true gem.
Very nice campsite. Neat and clean with lovely soft grass for children to play on, and sterdy ground for camping. Very peaceful. No signal for Vodacom users. Good facilities. Lovely 9 pools hike around the corner at Kudu Kaya.
Very beautiful place and relaxing when you want to get away from work and all other life stresses
Beautiful, peaceful, scenic camping spot but owner could work on his people skills, our reception was cold and wasn't greeted properly on arrival. Could use some baboon proof dirt bins. 4x4 a must to get in or out.
Beautiful setting, lots of cow droppings and fleas due to cows roaming through campsites, flush toilets and hot shower although geyser can be iffy. Small kitchen area per site is really convenient. Adults and kids loved the river, even though was quite muddy due to rains and river flowing. Was quite a challenge getting down and up from sites to main road as very steep and roads going down not in good condition. Lots of shade and all around very beautiful area. We were in site 1 to 3.
We stayed at Campsite 14, a great venue to go away with a group comfortably catering for 8+ people. It is also a great value for money. Sites are secluded from each other and with no cellphone reception, it offers a great place to getaway and enjoy the company of your group. Did some fishing and the proximity of the river, braai and kitchen allowed me to have my rods in while still spending time with friends. Ablutions are extremely basic, but do still offer flushing toilets and hot water although muddy water. No electricity on the sites, so it's advised to pack accordingly. Ice and wood is available from reception which helps if staying for a longer period. All in all, a great time was had and we will definitely be back!
Lovely spaced out camp sites with neat toilet and shower facilities.
We were welcomed by Jacqui, Christiaan and Fila; don't know what all the fuss is about rude hosts? Enjoyed our stay, loved the enormous layout of the campsite, with each site a far distance from the next. The private kitchen and ablution area for each site are great. Grounds neat and well maintained. Will visit again anytime!
What a stunning place with such an awful experience. My family and I were not greeted or welcomed with hospitality at all, on arrival. On the second day we were reminded of strict check out time asif we are not already aware of check out time when booking, making our stay even less comfortable. This place has amazing potential but would definitely not visit again, after travelling so far and paying in full the treatment received was appalling to say the least. The owner could really work on his people skills or get someone else to run the place!! Also the unit we stayed in is to accomodate 12 people so a bigger stove/oven would have been expected.
Did not feel welcome at all on arrival or during our stay there. My family and I were contemplating whether to leave or not as it felt as if we were not welcome at all. The host was quite cold and rude on arrival. He should work on his people skills and not project his past bad experiences with guests on others.
