We use allot of rental cars, for our staff and personal use, and at least 3 times a year at Port Elizabeth Airport. Never have I used Thrifty and never again will I use them again. The lady behind the desk was on her cell phone, messaging. She got extremely annoyed when we interrupted her. Also the car wasn't prepared. The rear safety belts, well there wasn't any. I also had to come and swop car in the middle of my stay. The vehicle was smelling of smoke. Also to get me refund took forever. Never again Thrifty........
Super friendly staff ! Got me my car that I reserved online, signed my contract within 10 minutes . Got a brand new car off the lot and they offered a better deal than all the other companies . Book /reserve online for the best deal!
I booked a car through the website and was quoted $44.35 for two days. I drove to Jeffriesbay, attended a funeral, drove back, gave the car back with a full tank, never went off-road, and did not had any damage. In fact, the person that took the car back said he could see I did not go far, and the car was not even dirty and had no issues. A few weeks later I was charged $175.59 for the two days. Called Customer Service 3 times, had a case open, and I was told the extra $130.00 was for tire damage. That is a total rip-off as there were no issues with the tires. I will NEVER EVER rent from Budget again, even if the competitors cost more. I will do the same for my business .... NO Budget rental cars. You might not care about a single customer, but your business practice of making up fake claims and taking customers money will catch up with you.
This place is really bad. I've got a vehicle from here twice in the past 12 months, and both times I've experienced unscrupulous behaviour when returning the vehicle. The first time I was told that there was a scratch on the passenger door which was quite odd as the car was securely parked, usually far from another vehicle, but I reluctantly paid an extra fee to compensate for any damage. The second time, I was told days after returning the vehicle that there was an issue with the windscreen and had to pay an exorbitant fee a few thousand which was deducted from my card without any notice. No resolution and clarity was ever given to me regarding this hefty fee. If you can avoid this place, you should. If you can't avoid this place, ensure you take adequate pics of your vehicle before using.
The so called branch manager never answers the calls, it's been more than 7 days and I have not received my deposit back. This is a really bad place to rent a car, I'm sure it doesn't take 7 days to inspect a vehicle, what are you waiting for or doing with my money?
Was a very smooth return after driving from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth with the rental
airport area really convenient
