Butjani Lodge

For a university project me and my project group stayed at Butjani for a month and absolutely fell in love with the place. The lodge is located in a beautiful game reserve so we were surrounded by all kinds of animals - Zebras, Giraffes, Wildebeests and so on. And then of course, John & Penny are exceptionally wonderful hosts. They always made sure we had everything we needed and were super flexible and open to any ideas or arrangements. John even took us on a game drive and taught us a lot about South Africa and the animals! The staff was also incredibly friendly and we miss our lovely cook already! I can only recommend this place to anyone, whether you’re traveling alone, with a group of friends or with family. This place really has everything and more to make your experience in South Africa memorable. We’re so thankful we found this place and hopefully one day we will return. Thank you John and Penny again for your amazing hospitality, the lovely food, the Braais, the talks and everything you’ve done for us. We can’t thank you enough!! Greetings from everyone!

Have just spent a couple of nights at this lodge. Lovely to be in the bush again . It has a family feel with home cooked meals which are excellent. Saw lots of small game and the Baboon's Tail in bloom which was a treat. So enjoyed our stay and have to say our host and hostess know so much about the bushveld and bird life. Piece of heaven on earth! Home away from home. Friendly and very attentive staff. Perfect break away for the weekend. We enjoyed the stay tremendously!
