It is very easy to find and, for me, parking was no issue. The establishment is a hustle and bustle with crew building props, make up and hair stylist who do their thing in a well structured manner, wardrobe rails being pushed to and from places and of course the excellent staff of each production, doing what they do best - live life as if they are all stars! What a great experience! Public do not seem to be allowed unless you are on a shoot as an extra, or in a cast as a featured person. From what I could see, different stages are utilized for current productions whilst Marque tents are used to sort out prepping for future productions. Big structures, warehouses if you will, serve as storage and work rooms for wardrobe garments. Others are used to work on building items for sets - from seamstresses, to welders to woodworkers, everybody fits into the huge picture which finally forms part of our everyday entertainment on screen or TV. Ample mobile bathrooms are supplied when fittings are done. An amazing place....and I don't often usen a term like this
The Cape Town International Filmstudio is a world class facility that plays a large role for the film industry of Western Cape and South Africa for the International and local film industry. Sadly that this venue are not open to the public to experience the "work behind the scenes of some of the favourite productions". The various areas that are utilized for the cast from the different productions are amazing. Normally fully booked with different casts and sets. Credit must go to the Management for securing continuous opportunities for the set builders and the construction teams to be able to work with top international and local actors. Proudly SA and growing the SA economy
Just heard about the going Mary is being made in live action form here Im a huge one piece fan and absolutely beautiful if it's true! Can't wait to see hopefully more photos of her in future
Electrician, Cables pointing
This is a movie production company, well trained staff who are experts in their field of experience. Parking for private vehicles is a problem though. My advice is to rather meet at certain points where they have pick ups and you will not have a parking problem.
I wasn't able to go inside but I did get to view the Black Sails movie set from outside the studios and you can get a pretty good view. From that perspective, it's a worthwhile stop if you want to spin a tale of adventure :
Great diverse location.
This is not a tourist attraction! Some notable series have been made here... Black Sails, Raised by Wolves just to name two.
Does anyone know if they have tour visits at CTFS would really like to explore
Parking just a bit of a problem to all. Not very accommodating wanted me to park my car on gravel next to working construction vehicles inconsiderate & careless. Great facilities just need to be more thoughtful & respectful as security.
