The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon & associated races take place over the weekend of the 22nd & 23rd September 2018. The Marathon event takes place on Sunday the 23rd September 2018 and starts in Beach Road, near Cape Town Stadium at 7.00 am.
An IAAF GOLD Labels Status Marathon, the event is a qualifier for the Comrades and Two Oceans Marathons. The race celebrates Cape Town and its heritage. Elite athletes can enjoy the chance to post a fast marathon time and the eight hour cut-off allows novice runners and walkers the opportunity to complete their first 42.2km race.
In addition to the marathon there is the Sanlam Cape Town 10km Peace Run, also starting on the Cape Town Stadium Forecourt at 7:10 am.
On Saturday 22nd September, there will be the Cape Town 4.2km Community Fun Run along with PEACE trail runs - a 22km & 12km.
