Casa Cara Lodge

Our room was perfect, only problem was our roof fan, were not working well, and it was super hot. Apart from that it was so much fun just to enjoy relaxtion, I would recommend that there must be a walkingroad for the campers to the bigger pools. Thank you casa cara for a nice holiday. The services and staff was so friendly, enjoyed being there.

Beautiful wedding venue. The accommodation is located in small chalets and tents in the bush on the riverbank of the vaal river. Had a great stay.

Second visit to the resort.The experience went from good to excellent due to Pepe's awesome service.The resort is beautifull and as campers the river stands are up our alley.The Baracas are also impressive.I was charmed by the coalstoves and design.The cherry on the cake was the service rendered by Pepe. Keep up the good work girl you aced it!

Beautifully decorated and designed rooms we spent a wonderful weekend at Casacara and their beautiful Restaurant that is located on the premises, qlso dont miss out on their waterpark a definite must with great food and vibe Rooms: 5/5

Access over priced for what you get to do. Forced to buy all food and snacks and drinks on premises , nothing allowed to bring into area, then the shop on premises shelves are empty on opening, and the stock thats available are limited choices and extremely expensive. Like R35 per 2lt coke zero. Only 2 types of flavour on simba chips, and only small packets of potato chips witch are also over priced. This place will not see any family for a second visit... To low quality for money. Service are also poor due to staff are not enough.

Can't comment on the rooms but we attended the water park and our children enjoyed it. Very clean and the quality of the food was excellent. Nearby activities: Lions, animals and restaurant. Golf course within 5km Safety: Lifeguard are always present. Acces via a gaurded gate. Food & drinks: Food was freshly prepared bursting with flavour.

Stayed in the luxury tent for an evening and absolutely adored it. Everything was clean when we arrived, the atmosphere was calm and everything was perfect. The room is equiped with all your essentials and all you need to bring is your own food and drinks. The swimming pool was incredible and only a few meteres away. The next morning we had a lovely breakfast on the deck and looked at all the animals it was really a great breakaway and would recommend it.

I am in between about this place, because the pictures of this place are so beautiful and to be fair what you see in the pictures is actually what you get when you finally get there. So got here the whole idea of a luxury tent sounds great but it isn’t for everyone. We killed over 3 LARGE spiders just hours of arriving. We asked for an iron and were told that there is no iron on the entire premises like how is that possible? I am so shocked. There are so many spider webs EVERYWHERE!!! As if this place was not cleaned before we got here, the patio/ deck was the most dirtiest couldn’t sit there without having to wipe the spot first.It’s really not worth the money. Then to top it off the gas stove did not work and when my husband called to ask how long it will take to for us to get assistance he was told they can’t guarantee how long it will take mind you we want to prepare dinner. The lady at receptionist then tells us that ‘ she is sure there is a stove inside’ like what is that. We saw the stove if we wanted to use the stove inside we would have stayed at home. The door to the luxury tent where we were did not lock so anyone could come in and pass by to go to the river to do fishing without considering if there are people there or not. There is no shaded areas by the pool side so you are unable to sit during the day and watch kids play/swim for too long. We were told to pay to view the rest of the facilities. Gosh I am not happy with the amount I paid for the service and accommodation I received. Luckily another sweet lady allowed us to view the rest of the facilities Luxury tent is a big no no for me. I am not Glam camping here again. especially for the amount I paid it’s not worth it. I slept on the chair because there where 2 huge spiders on the bed and I am afraid of creepy crawlies! Tents need to be cleaned more than often than other places.

We camped one weekend on one of the river stands. Each camping spot has a big paved area for tents/caravans, great for rainy days and their own ablution block with gas geyser. The braai area have 2 very convenient taps, one prep bowl and one bigger sink great for dishes and to was your braai grid. Campers that are avid fisherman will really enjoy these spots as each of them have steps down to the river with a spot where they can sit next to the river. For people with small kids it is a bit of a hazard, you need to be always aware of where they are with the river so close. Truly beautiful camping spots and the private ablution is a bonus! Original review: We camped at Casa Cara and really loved it! We had a pool stand in row A R370/night that was conveniently close to the pool and play area as well as the ablution facilities Camp stands are paved with a patch of grass either side. Each stand has it's own braaier that gets cleaned out every morning as well as black bin. The stand also has a green shade net over which really helps a lot during the summer. The play area is great next to the pool and includes 2 trampolines. There's a kiddies pool of 50cm and a bigger pool of max depth 1.5m. The ablution facilities are clean, and equipped with showers. There are plenty of sinks for dishes as well with hot water provided from a gas geyser. At the lodge there's another play area and pool that is available to the campers at no cost. There's also an awesome indoor play area great for kids under 2 years. For R50 you can view the animals on premises, offering a few surprises including wolves and cats from the Americas. The kids loved it. You can never control fellow guests' behavior, but it was good to see management crack down on loud and inappropriate guests. Casa Cara is a great camping venue that caters especially well for kids so we'll be coming back for the next couple of years. Next time we'll try a river stand
