Umfula Resort

Lovely clean place. Went there to fish for a day, no fish has been caught unfortunately. Warm water pool was nice, water slide and mechanical bull ride was closed.Service: 1/5

I called to book accommodation, after being advised that a chalet is available, I was asked for a membership number, I replied that I don't have one and was told only members can book at the resort. I don't want to jump the gun with comments of racism but there is nothing that I could find on the Resorts website about the Resort only being available to members!

We rented a chalet in March. It was OK. The grid on the braai was knackered but we managed, the seats in the chalet were very uncomfortable, fortunately we brought our own camping chairs. The bed was very comfy, the resort was very clean. We had brekky in the "restaurant", they couldn't give us COFFEE with it. That was weird. It took almost THREE weeks to get the breakage deposit refunded. It took one watsapp, two emails, and a very STRONG phone call. It seems the wee tannie who handles this still spends her days dreaming fairies and unicorns.

A gem in the Parys area. Right next to the river with different swimming pools for any age. The kids love the super tube while the elder people lounge on the chairs in the shade. Well maintained and worth a visit.

A great resort for a day visit and relaxing time by the pool with the children. I love the fact that they have 3 different pools so the toddlers are safe away from the bigger children and the main pool is perfect for a splash.Location: 4/5

We had a wonderful time at Umfula resort! The new owners did a fantastic job to create a neat, clean and safe atmosphere to relax and had great service. We were two families staying together in their 8-bed chalet, and we were surprised by how shiny and clean everything was, from the kitchen counters, the cutlery and plates, to the bathrooms, and linen. The aircon was an absolute winner, and the fans in every room were great to cool down during the hot December days, or have a comfortable night's sleep. There was a stove, microwave, fridge and fire place we could use to add to a comfortable holiday. The gardens were well kept, and we could enjoy a lovely view of the river from our stoep. There was something to do for everyone and to get the kids of their devices On sunny days, the kids enjoyed the swimming pools and supertube, as well as the Putt-Putt course and lots of space to ride their bicycles. The river was a bit strong for fishing, but they still threw in a line under the cool shade of the trees. We enjoyed taking the boats out on the stretch of river near the resort for a beautiful sunset cruise. On the rainy days, the kids played table tennis and had the option of an indoor jumping castle, and the management also arranged a movie and bunny chows for something different. We can highly recommend Umfula River Lodge for a relaxing and fun holiday for everyone.

We had a unpleasant experience dealing with the "owner" . He never introduced himself to me and only revered to himself as the owner. Camping stands not properly demarcated which allows for confusion. When called upon to resolve the issue, he showed a clear biased towards his friends even after he and his manager ? again no proper introduction admitted that this was their mistake . The owner has a " my way or the highway ' attitude. After this unpleasant incident we decided to pack up and leave . What should have been a pleasant experience turned into a nightmare because of the owner's brashness.

Cannot really reply on our stay, as I phoned to book. Was told they will phone me back, which never happened. Phoned back later. Only to be told they are fully booked.

We a family of 5 were at the resort on Monday 20-12-21 for the day, what an amazing view of the river! Kids were kept busy the whole day, resort in general was absolutely neat and tidy, ablutions were spotless! Food at the restaurant was great and the staff were extremely helpful and kind! Thanx to the resort as a whole for the perfect day out. Last but not least the fishing was fantastic! Thanx again.
