We stayed only for one night, but really enjoyed the lovely view and peaceful surroundings. There were plenty of bird life to see and Royston Hall itself is like stepping back in time. The house has a rich history that ads to the atmosphere and your experience. Ria & Roderick were very friendly and hospitable.Rooms: 5/5
Such a wonderfully peaceful experience. I was travelling alone and I definitely feel more rested after visiting Royston Hotel. Beautiful scenery and a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Definition worth it!

This is a place everyone should visit atleast once, the setting is like being taken back in time way way back, in the victorian era. It's like time stops , the serenity of the place is very spectacular, and is very difficult to describe it in words or pictures, even if you try, one would not do justice at all. Ria is very warm, welcoming and friendly. This was a daddy's day deal, and it was well worth it. I even had to book an extra person at short notice, Ria was very accommodating and made sure that we got another room. There's the 3 friendly dogs , they love to accompany any guest on a walk through the lush and lovely forest and You will end up on the railway line and tunnel, which makes for wonderful pics. The breakfast is wonderful and having it on the deck or veranda is just the perfect place. The rooms we stayed in was spacious and the beds and bedding was comfortable. There are just a few things that was not to our total satisfaction. The room 1 that we stayed in, there is a fire place but was not encouraged to use it. The bathroom was smelling damp, there was water leaking from somewhere, although it did not bother us, it may bother some. When I first phoned to query about the availability of accomodation, I was given an option of upstairs rooms, and I agreed on it, but when I checked in I was given rooms downstairs which did not offer much views of the river. So please remember to clarify where you are going to book, upstairs offers the best views. Then the room adjoing room 1 was smelling very stuffy. There are more positives here. I would not discourage anyone, please do book to stay here. Then there is Robert the assistant, who has a lovely smile and ever willing to assist and always helpful, no matter what you require.
A very beautiful and classic guesthouse. With vast tranquil scenery. This place is rich with history. It is a pity we didn't enjoy our stay there. Our room number 2 - outside room was filled with thick, dense and humid air. Our room was rather tiny then what was shown in the Pictures. We would have appreciated if they had refreshed our towels since we had spent 2 nights there. Breakfast was superb. The auxiliary staff were very kind and sweet. They have lovely dogs too.

I felt like walking in to Downtown Abbey. Beautiful old mansion which seems to let you travel back in time. We only stopped for one night on our way to the wild coast. But enjoyed the surrounding forest.
