Definitely a buzzing spot! We made a reservation as we needed a pet friendly restaurant. They don’t bring out any water bowls for pet so be sure to pack that. We were seated outside due to the fact that we had our pet with us but that was not a problem at all. The place looked beautiful and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. The service was good and efficient. Unfortunately the food was not up to standard. My partners brother ordered some seafood pasta which included prawns. They didn’t have so they said they would top it up with mussels. There were more shells than mussels and it didn’t seem to hit the spot so it was sent back. Thankfully they removed that item from the bill. My partner and I got a pizza to share, it was my first time having a wood oven pizza that had a soggy centre. I would say the best part about the pizza was the crust. The toppings were just falling all over the place and just really didn’t do it for me. I can’t say if I would come back or not, but I can see the potential of what a nice evening you could have. Perhaps the kitchen just had a bad evening.
5 star atmosphere, menu, pricing & the promise of the finest ingredients. Sadly in our experience the overall impression didn’t live up to the expectation. The “rustic” chips were very disappointing & I would be very surprised if they were fresh as they appeared & tasted like the typical average fast food frozen type just way more expensive. The fish was great but again dragged down by the disappointing chips. The pizza was full of great ingredients, but the flavour was dominated by too much chilli and I don’t mind spice and the base was not great either hard to cut & then also slightly chewy. Nonetheless, the service was great & we would try them again, but avoid anything with chips.
An eclectic and contemporary style casual dining design and atmosphere. Location is not everything when food is medicure, missing ingredients on menu items with substitutes that don't offer much to compliment the dish. Coffee was of good quality and hot chocolate was the best I've tasted anywhere
The food was delicious, the restaurant is rustic/modern steam punk vibes inside - very cool, and the service was great! Downsides, my partner found a chicken bone in her salad, and we weren’t there very later especially on a Saturday but they made us feel like we needed to rush as they were cleaning up tables around us. Overall good Italian spot, would recommend.
The restaurant decor was quite charming and the service was good. Everyone enjoyed their respective dishes and we loved the milkshakes made from gelato. We will be returning and will gladly recommend this restaurant
I get so excited when I make a stop here! Reminds me of old bars and cafès in Rome, or Naples. Food is always super-good. Love the other touches, such as the old Ape, the gelato stand, and on our last visit March 2023, the Malfi gin stand my favourite range of gins! ... it felt like a hot Summers day in Positano! Only negative is that the accoustics inside aren't great and it's noisy - not a problem if there're just two of you, but for a group of peeps, conversation is a challenge.
Thank you to Nhlakanipho Ntuli for the amazing service. Our late dinner was nothing short of bliss. The pasta was absolutely impeccable. The space was beautiful and clean. I hope to experience this wonderful spot again during the day.Food: 5/5

Previously reviewed Old Town Italy 5 stars but sadly my sandwich today was a massive let down. For a R110 sandwich it had almost zero filling. See the picture. 1 thin sliver of meat and a pickle off to the side. Decent amount of cheese but really this is not a premium sandwich but it's most certainly being sold at a premium price. Service was OK. Food took 30 minutes to come. They have a full bar but when my fiance ordered a simple gin and tonic they said they didn't have tonic...they literally have a display selling Italian Gins.....but no tonic?
The attention to detail by staff, is unheard off these days. We were constantly waited on by the most attractive people in the hospitality industry. Every person was just super. We are grateful to have such a wonderful experience at old Town Italy...Food: 4/5
