Catsville CPUT Residence

The Res it self is ok, but the security staff/ reception need a lot of training when it comes to handling people.There is absolutely no communication at all & they get fed up when asked simply questions

Place is a mess security is weak nothing is properly working the most of the stove are not working.They is no balance between hot and cold water .Only boiling water comes out of the shower. If I say static only 10% of things are working properly here . Imagine they are cameras but are not working people can enter your room even break in and they is nothing you can do no evidence. They is a lot I can say about this place but that a story for another day . anyway I don't recommend the place to anyone for that matter

It was awesome

Lived here for 4 years. When I arrived everything was well kept and there were no security issues. Management was great but with time and changes everything started lacking and falling apart. I hope things are better there now but living there were some of the best years of my life needless to say.

So I wrote this a few years ago and it is still a lot like this: Badly run residence! Untidy and unkempt. Students largely do not look after things either. Some people are trying to improve things but largely things have been getting worse and worse over the last few years due to money, favours and corruption being the order of the day. However, while I was there today I was struck by the love of the senior students to really try help and of the securities love for those young people coming from afar to stay in their residence! It is a real struggle between 1. the leadership who are often distant and stuck doing little due to red tape or simple apathy. 2. The people on rhe ground trying to uplift and love! Unfortunately it is still known as Hillbrow for a reason amoungst students and it will take some strong leaders to change that! Praying for those leaders.

I have never been there before but most of my fellow students give it thumbs up.

I've stayed at this University residence for three years now and it has become like a second home to me . I love the Student vibes, the 24/7 Media Centre and the free shuttle rides to campus and back.

It's a great place yet needs some maintenance
