A lovely lunch with friends, some ordered the carvery which comes ready plated & others ordered off the menu. The food was pleasant, but I had a higher expectation for the carvery plate. My potatoes were over done & rather small compared to others, the pumpkin under done & rather hard & chicken not crispy enough with no golden brown colour. We did have the most delightful waitress DEMI which was very warm & welcoming in her demeanor & ready to accommodate us with anything we needed. We found the manager somewhat cold & distant, only greeting us briefly when leaving the restaurant. As someone who understands the ins & outs of the hospitality & food industry, a friendly gesture from him would make clients feel alot more comfortable or welcomed making them feel appreciated as patrons to his restaurant?

Service was amazing from the time we walked in. Food was absolutely delicious

We had dinner with my sister and her family tonight,she especially invited my sister from Canada to join us. She ordered a Louisianna Burger . The patty was dry,the bottom half of the bun was completely soggy. I ordered a Sesame Chicken served on a toss salad with avocado and my niece had the same meal. What a disappointment. The plate was filled with just yellow lettuce leaves and about 8 pieces of chicken strips and half an advocado. This meal cost R125.00. I complaint to the waitress she informed the Manager John Edwards about it. He did not come to our table to ask what the problem was,did not even apologized ,did.not even offer any replacement meal. He  seems cold and distant and when we started to leave he simply disappeared from the front desk to avoid us. This Manager or owner really needs to take a hard look at himself and treat his patrons with dignity and respect.

We went for steak night and was, unfortunately, underwhelmed. I ordered the 200g sirloin and sauce steak and my husband ordered the 600g sirloin on a bone, both meduim. My steak was nice, but my husband's was very chewy. He literally had to cut it repeatedly after asking for a steak knife just to get a piece. We also received bland stirfry with the steaks, instead of the usual butternut and creamed spinach. Unfortunately, I've had better steak at home. It's a shame as I've been here many times and I'm use to much better food quality from Cattle Baron.

Beautiful and romantic vibe, great food, excellent service from staff.  Manager  actively checks on patrons.Food: 5/5

We got there and there were no waiter we reseved a table and the waiteress got it wrong and we just left the sevice is very  poor please improve next time

Lovely restaurant with good food and wine.  Food is well presented and might seam expensive, but well worth the money. Waiters are friendly and helpful. Ample parking in centres parking lot. Well worth the experiance and will be back.

June 19 . Cynthia took me to Cattle Barron to celebrate Father's Day . There was a special roast lunch of both chicken and beef . No corkage so I bought a very nice bottle of Shiraz from TOPS . The restaurant was very full with a very pleasant vibe . The service was impeccable .

Simply amazing service and the food was great. No complaints especially considering we called in late on a Friday night to make a reservation and they were able to accommodate us.  I had a rump steak with chips and pepper sauce, it was absolutely delicious along with the complimentary spinach and butternut. The manager was welcoming and checked in on us to make sure we were happy with the service, which we really appreciated. Our waiter was lovely and friendly throughout our dinner.

Castle Barons Plattekloof is absolutely amazing. So awesome to see that old school dining still exists. From a fantastic welcome to a Lovely warm table setting. The waitress was super friendly and did exactly whatyou would from a waitress in this environment. To the most beautiful and succulent well cooked filet steak. The prices are exactly where they should be..I would recommend Cattle Barons Plattekloof to anyone wanting a great eat out experience
