Centurion (Gautrain station)

Description

Centurion is a metro station on the Gautrain rapid transit system in Centurion, Gauteng. The station opened in August 2011 as part of the second phase of the Gautrain project.LocationCenturion station is located in the former independent municipality of Centurion, currently Tshwane south. The station is located adjacent to West Avenue which runs along the northern bank of Centurion Lake.Transit-oriented developmentIn common with other Gautrain stations, Centurion station acts as the focal point of transit-oriented development. The most prominent of the initiatives near the station is the Centurion Symbio-City development, which aims at developing the highest skyscraper in Africa in the middle of Centurion Lake.Station layoutCenturion station has two tracks with two side platforms and parking for 2000 cars. Due to high demand for parking and a lot of rail users having to park outside the station, the Bombela Consortium purchased additional land to build additional parking in Von Willich Avenue on the Northern side of the station.ServicesTrains on the North-South Line of the Gautrain system serve Centurion station, running northbound to Pretoria and Hatfield and southbound to Sandton and Johannesburg Park Station. In addition, Centurion has four integrated feeder bus routes to Highveld (CEN1), Rooihuiskraal (CEN2), Wierdapark (CEN3), and Southdowns (CEN4).

They say cleanliness is next to godliness. Yes with Gautrain stations it's exactly what you'll find and get as an individual. Littering is prohibited, eating or chewing gum inside the train can result to a R700 fine. There's so much tranquility going on at all stations. Covid19 regulations are adhered to at all times.
Unbelievably efficient! This had been the best experience I have ever had renewing my licence. The staff members are so helpful, efficient, friendly and polite and everything, including the machines are new and clean. Thanks especially to Pamela and Boitumelo for their outstanding customer service.
Incredibly fast and friendly service. Book for the earliest spot possible. Park to the right when entering the Gautrain station at the parallel parking next to the bus drop-off. No need to take photos or an eye test beforehand. Everything is done at one table on the day. No need to print the DL1 form, they provide the form. Be sure to complete the form with a black pen. Take a copy of your ID.
The Gautrain is one of the few improvements in South Africa since 1994. Quiet efficient and safe unlike the rest of the country.
Lovely station, very safe. Very large parking for park and ride. There are card facilities to top up your Gautrain card, there are self help kiosks to top up yourself. At this station you will find a kiosk where you can purchase Midibus tickets at R11 currently, to have a quicker ride to certain pre-determined destinations go online and download the midibus routes from the s3 website rather than take an hour long commute on the Gautrain Big Bus. The 2 platforms are separated by train tracks so make sure you read the sign to know you are on the correct platform North or South. There is also a DLTC on site quite helpful and safe for licensing on the go
Ride almost daily. Neat train and helpful and friendly staff. Would recommend. Worth every cent.
Safe station. Ample parking and waiting area in the back. Good stop , one must be vigilant when ordering an Uber as they may have conflict with the metered taxi. The attendants on duty are usually very aware and are known to be of help.
Lovely and clean, just a pity there are no restaurants or coffee shops within walking distance
Awesome way to get to the airport in Johannesburg. Only 30 minutes, much better than dealing with traffic in the highways. Highly recommended outside of peak hours lx haven't tried in peak hours but I was told its quite packed.
Best way to travel between Centurion and Johannesburg. Also very easy and coat effective!
