Chateux gateaux still produces some of the best cakes I’ve tasted. The consistency is unmatched. The branch in Durban North is a bit more spacious than some of the other branches in Durban. The staff were friendly and as always, the cake was good. The new red velvet cheesecake is BOMB !!!
I enjoyed a little treat here recently and I liked it. The cake was yummy and service was great, however the drinks frappe/cold drinks were awful, so tasteless, definitely needs improvement, the hot drinks were enjoyable though. I was disappointed when I was served a glass of water in a tiny cup, no straw, no tray, which was weird. No biggy though
Has some of the best and friendliest staff. They have amazing cakes, drinks and freshly baked goods, their chocolate croissants are my personal favourite. P.S. If Yamkela is working on the day you visit, you must try her Chococcino, simply to die for!
Beautiful, relaxed setting, friendly efficient service. My favourite Swiss Carrot cake always a winner. Good cappuccinos
Was really excited to see the revamped store. Really disappointed with the service of the new unfriendly faces. Orders are taken incorrectly. Really not the same cosy place it was before.

Very disappointing, you are served in boxes! There are only 3 type of cakes! I'm customer for many years, and was never disappointed! I wouldn't come back again!
They can not sell cakes or serve coffee when there is load shedding. In South Africa and in this day and age can not believe they so backward.
Literally the best coffee shop in town in my opinion. Perfect for a quick catch up over hot or cold delicious drinks and yummy treats! And a life saver for dinner parties you forgot to make a dessert for! The Chateau Gateaux cafe frappe is the best ice coffee I’ve had to be honest - it’s icy but not watery and flavorful but not too powerful!
Perfect place to chill any time, desserts always amazing #cakehaven
