This Checkers Hyper has in recent times upped its game in large strides. Sporting an efficient aisle layout locating all items of a similiar nature in close proximity makes for a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience. They also have a wide variety of products under one roof, from the expected food, detergents, bakery, dairy and meat sections to a nice selection in camping sporting and electronic goods. This Checkers Hyper has restored my faith in the brand and I look forward to go back there soon.

A quiet, secure and reliable place to do your household shopping

Pricing at till often higher than pricing on shelves. Check till slips please. The store smells like rotten meat. When I complained over a year ago the manager explains that there is a sevice duct underneath store where dirty water collects. Apparently run of water from the butchery also runs onto the duct. Problem still not resolved so I turned around and left the store a few days ago. Can't support a store who ignores potential health hazards.

The lady at the ballon/party section was very helpful. She allowed me to pay for my other groceries by her till. If you buy balloons etc, you pay at that party section, then other groceries you pay at the tills. So she went to fetch plastic bags for me at the tills and processed all my groceries and balloons at once.

1. Could use an upgrade on their trollies. Every time I go there, I seem to get one with a wonky wheel. 2. Tills seem to be getting closer together, I struggle to get even the trolly with a wonky wheel through. I could imagine how some people with extra size would struggle to get through.. 3. If the tills movi8ng closer to make space for 1 or 2 extra tills. Why aren't all the tills been used specially month end.

Too often popular items are out of stock, or sales items have a very limited stock. Some items will be out of stock for weeks on end. There is not a variety of iced tea in the fridges even after several requests. Fridge items are not kept cold enough during load shedding resulting in milk products going off quickly and cheese becomes tasteless etc.. Also, some staff or people posing as staff or ex staff are stealing bank cards and are trying to involve people in savings schemes. Their security camera set up is also not what it should be.

It's a very pleasant place to shop. The staff is super helpful.

Checkers stores in general promote drawing cash at the teller as a convenience to customers, saving on bank charges and lessen the safety risk of going to an ATM or bank. I have been using this store for the past 6 years however over the past few months I have received increasingly lower service. Today I tried to draw cash and firstly encountered a sigh of inconvenience by the cashier which is not the first time and secondly was told that in such a massive store they only have R1700 available in cash. I have been drawing cash from this store for over a year yet over the last few months have encountered the unwillingness of majority to assist.there are very few that still try Further to this the managers are just as unwilling to assist and drag there feet everywhere assistance is needed. There seems to be no pride or enthusiasm to assist customers. Today Checkers Hyper has officially lost me as a customer. Sad considering I live close by and would now rather drive then encounter this type of service.

‍Don't take your kids there, they let you leave the shop with a big whole in your purse. The toys department are great.
