I Had a terrible welcoming to the mosque when attending on the morning of Eid up Adha. I was greeted by a woman who told me the ladies section was at capacity, she then questioned me asking if I was alone, just one person? I was. I looked at her and I asked her if she was intending on turning me away and she was stunned. She eventually let me in and I sat down in an available spot and then watched her welcome many women who came in after me, she was familiar with them and much more friendlier in her greeting, approach and welcoming them into the mosque. I didn’t get her name, but she left me with a terrible impression and experience. Keeping in mind it was my first time attending Eid salaah. It wasn’t a good experience.
A respectable mosque, but it is not permissible for a woman to deliver a sermon in this mosque. It is not permissible to say or do

Lovely historical mosque on Claremont main road. I enjoy reading salaat here but always wonder about the doubtful masaail. Why place boxes for tayammum when the MJC has clearly come out to say that tayammum is not appropriate yet despite the severity of the drought. Isn't this misleading for musallees who may use tayammum not realizing that it isn't valid because there is water available?

Excellent khutbhas, friendly community, visionary leadership. Intergrating practical realistic Islam with current local and global dynamics. Islam in perspective.
This historic Mosque is led by the affable Imam Dr Rashied Omar who also lectures at a University abroad.He is a leader in inter-faith relations.
Perfect for popping in to do the daily prayers. Have not been there for Jumuah though.
Great mosque to attend I love their standpoint on current issues
